They added Frawley & Lake over the time, both All Australian defenders. Back about 5 years ago, they needed that hit up forward & poached Gunstan... This is what I'm talking about. If we find we need a mid, shake the tree & land Jack Steele, L Weller or R Atkins, if we need a defender, shake the tree & land Marchbank, if we need a forward, shake the tree & land one of Tomlinson, Stewart etc., a forward/ruck, shake Peter Wright away from GC, not necesarily the cream, but good solid players that will grow as we grow

I don't want us to just grab a player for the hell of it, it's gotta be for needs only. I'm happy with idea of development & taking best available at the draft but it may not be enough in 3-5 years is what I was trying to say. Let us not be afraid to stick our necks out to make ourselves a better team when it really matters in a couple of years

Shaun Burgoyne was a star as well when they picked him up, people tend to forget that the Hawks poached him
