Packer's West Australian is only Monday to Saturday. We get Rupert's Sunday Times on the Sunday. Will probably be in the West on Monday.

Packer doesn't own the West

it's listed on the stock exchange as West Australian Newspapers (WAN)

he has a large share holding, but so do plenty of others

Point being? He still has influence. Do you have OCD?

Point being????

no point, you said "Packers West Australian" as in Packer owns the West Australian Newspaper.

Your comment may have misled people to think that he actually does, I was merely pointing out he doesn't.

therefore my point is stop misleading people, tha's my point

ok?:)

Shouldn't you also point out that a very similar situation exists for the Sundee Times / Rupert? Murdoch doesn't own the paper, he has a large holding in Newscorp, which is a listed company that owns the paper.

''Ben Cousins speaks exclusively to 7 News about his problem ..Monday night ''

Promo just aired on Perth 7

Good to see Ben's profiting from this.

I'm sure we'll hear the usual BS in that he's not being paid for it, but he has a responsibility first a foremost to West Coast & supporters and not to some media outlet he has a contract with.

Poor form.

Ben's contracted to channel 7

you talking to me?

i never said Rupert Murdoch owns the Sunday times.

but, just to be clear here, Murdoch owns a controlling share in news corp and is MD or ceo and chairman (i think) and employed by News which is very, very different to Packers stake of less than 14.9% stake in WAN, no board position, just a quiet shareholder.

as I say, i had never previously mentioned Murdoch Hoogs did.

thanks

Also, if you get sacked from the mines because you have been using drugs, no way you will get another job in the mines.
Crap.

Mine sites conduct drug tests during inductions. If you fail you're simply not allowed on site. Even codeine via prescription isn't allowed.

Breath tests are conducted daily. If you blow over 0.00 then you don't get to come on site.

lol . . . who needs the media to peddle this BS? :D

I know he's got a contract with channel 7, and I'm sure this exclusive will make sure he's got one in the future too.

Ben's first priority should be to the Eagles and its supporters. He should be prepared to make a media statement that suits them not some secondary employer.

Like I said, poor form.

Agree 100%

Once again he's been flashing the finger at everyone...especially the weagle fans and his club. Some ppl actually feel sorry for the guy but that isnt a concern for him.

At any time he can come out and talk to the public yet he is choosing to feather his own nest again whilst others clean up his mess and take the heat for him.

I'm not the only one that has lost all respect for the bloke...he tested that respect in many ppl over the last few yrs but this is confirming it...and a few contrived sobs or tears at a time of his choosing aint gonna help.

The bloke is proving to be just a squibb.

I have it on good authority that a prominent journalist will publish an article in one of the Sunday newspapers of more drug issues at an AFL club and anything between 6 and 9 players will be named.

The more this goes on the more the AFL's drug policy is a sham and the more both them and clubs could be accused of sweeping the problem under the carpet.

Stay tuned for more intersting revelations that could make the WCE problem look like a minor issue in comparison.

Just an article saying 2 unnamed players have been snorting coke.

Definetely not 6 to 9 players, and I dont think it will take front and back page and another 6 of the newspapers

I can see why Dalton Gooding came out on the Footy show the other week voluntarily saying that there was a small drug problem at the Eagles. Was softening the blow with a little PR, knowing what was coming on the horizon.

What if you're clean for a couple of weeks and go to the induction and get the job, then you have some at a later date and get caught by a random test.

You already have the job when you do the inductions.
You already know that if you test positive you won't be allowed on site.
People go to mine sites to work, not go off on substances.

If he's a s messed up as people are suggesting he is, I think it's fair enough that he takes a bit of time to get his act together.

Well Ive been around the traps a bit and I have seen plenty of footballers mainly older ones who used to religously take panadol before every game.

More interesting though was the amount of players who took a minimum of 4 sudafed before the game and also another 4 at half time. This was for the psuedoephidrine kick.

Some of those were stand out players (you still need talent though). I definitely believe that amphetamines would help you run for longer. However I also believe you put yourself at risk of other issues.

So if people go to minesites to work and not take substances, why do they do drug tests...?

I'm not allowed to call you dumb, but what you're saying is down that track.

Maybe you'd surprise me if I met you in person.

Could you ask some dumber questions please? I don't think you've fallen to a grade 2 level yet. Hit yourself on the head again...you'll get there eventually.
