I luv Butters but unfortunately can't argue with this. In his defence he's had to deal with a tag every week but that's a partial reason only.Yea you can set your watch to a Butters disappearing act in a final.

We have been notoriously slow to drop underperforming senior players in Kens tenure. It has been infuriating.Yep. They didn't even pick Hawkins this week.
Just like their coachTo many B and C grade players that can't take the heat when it's applied
He tried hard as he always does but he was terribleWas our best player by a mile I get his turnovers were bad but at least he tried something. He wanted to win nobody else looked like they wanted it more than him. You are out of your mind
This is the problem with the clubs mentality. If we bang it in 50,000 times we will score some goals. There is no concern for quality, its all about quantity. Was our best player by a mile I get his turnovers were bad but at least he tried something. He wanted to win nobody else looked like they wanted it more than him. You are out of your mind
You forgot the serial underperformer DBJ when the heat is on. Yes, he had a good game against the Hawks (the whole team did) but this guy goes missing so often when the heat is on.Almost everyone was shit.
Drew alright
JHF alright
Burgoyne alright
Sweet ok
Boak shit
Wines shit
Rozee shit
Butters shit
Rat extra shit
Dixon extra extra shit
BZT putrescent shit
Narkle, Evans, Evans, shit
Who else plays, who cares
The one thing I noticed at the game it took until 3 quarter time for the coaching staff to make actual line up changes.
They moved rat back down back and Evans to the wing, think that was the only changes through out the night.
Yep, Burgoyne was clearly upset as every player should have been. But it's always a job done attitude, next year we'll do better - rinse & repeat. They barely look like they care leaving the ground apart from Burgoyne
They didn't turn up that day much like most of our finals performancesHow did we beat them by 112? Lol
Think it will take more than clearing out Hinkley. I'd get rid of all of them but Hinkley, Cornes & Hartlett particularly. They were too classy, found out against a team with quality in all positions with a clearly defined game plan.
At least our young players didn't look overawed and we hung in until the end.
Be nice to have anew coach take over the young group. Which reminds me, weren't the 7 commentators in full Save Hinkley mode?
I doubt we will make the 8 if we continue with our current coaching set up. Good effort by the Swans but we are sick of hearing this sentimentality from opposition supporters whose teams regularly make GFs. It's actually sickening.Well done on a great season Port, I was sh*ting myself going into this game tonight. I'm sure you're bitterly disappointed for the moment but I think it's important to remember how lucky we were to face you with quite a few of your best 23 not out there tonight and us having the sheer fortune of a healthy list at the pointy end of the season. You'll be up there amongst it again next year, I am certain.
Seriously, where have all these people been for the last 10 years? Did they only join up last week.
He's coaching next year. No karma bus.Hinkley hit by the karma bus
Almost agree with all that except Lord. Just don't think he has a clue about the game & minimally skilled.Out:
Hinkley
Koch
Davies
Mcentee
Dixon
Boak
F Evans
Marshall ()
Take the (c) off Rozee and give it to anyone else.
Put games into Scully and Lord, they cant do worse than what we put out there now.
I'm also blaming him partially for the diabolical turnovers. Weak mentality taught by the head coach over many years. He may not be calling the game day changes this year but his loser mentality has infiltrated the entire club.Turnovers werent his fault, but the plan to guard grass, play from behind and bomb it to Dixon was Hinkleyball to a tee.
Burton has been terrible for 2 years with one decent recent performance.Yeah but don’t forget Burton. Another two momentum killers by him. He’s a serial underwhelming underperformer in finals
Forgive the board intrusion, but you beat a rapidly-becoming-bigger-than-their-boots Hawthorn in a final. I love you guys!
Yep, commiserations but you've got my respect for that too. One of the most enjoyable moments of this season
He's not consistently afl standard if he doesn't have a contract you don't resign him.Was a bit disappointed with Narkle's game last night, whilst he's not super talented and exceptional he does normally does things tidily. But yesterday he just kept fumbling the ball. Not the only player to do so but
I agree with all this but I still feel that our run into the finals was a quality performance against good sides. To then put in 2 pathetic efforts in 3 of the finals is so PA under Hinkles. To be honest.
We revel in the sugar hits of meaningless wins far too often as a club.
Beating Sydney at the SCG last year in a game we only won because they missed a shot after the siren. Beating Geelong by 6 points after coughing up a 49 point lead. Beating Hawthorn in a game we dominated by 3 points after they hit the post on a game winning kick. I'm sure there's many more examples of celebrating the sugar hits.
We celebrate LUCK. That also summarises our forward line and game plan. We are just reliant on luck.
If we could go back to 2014, having Freo kick straight in that Semi might've made a huge difference to how Hinkley was perceived. That sugar hit might've cost us many years.
The Sicily miss now may be the same. Lose that, our coach is sacked and we look forward to some change. Again instead Ken is given a chance to start another year on the back of a piece of luck. Costing us another chance for a fresh start.
