Put in the work but Goodes went on

Tell me you didn't want Goodes to step aside for an unknown bloke who wasn't prepared to fight for a spot in a regular finals team?
Once again we are talking about a bloke whose team he went to has achieved nothing since he's been there despite this team having recruited & invested heavily in players from other clubs.
The one thing they all have in common is that at some point all these players have sooked it up because they can't get a game or aren't playing in their favoured position or want to go home etc, etc etc. Membrey is just another one of a long list at the Saints. Hill, Jones, Ryder, Houston, Crouch. Lazy arses when the going gets tough.

Give me a 40 year old Adam Goodes for 1 more year over any of these upstarts whose career thus far has only amounted to a couple of scattered individually good games that don't matter. One year from Goodsey over 10 years from Membrey every day of the week from me.

Rendell & SOS run their eyes over the Swans list

First bloke says we are a great kicking side, need a KPD, Rowbottom might do some tagging to replace Hewett, McInerney to fix his kicking, a bit of a lack of depth, best kicks Campbell > Blakey > Florrent but Gulden is very measured, Papley needs to fix his goal kicking like Hayward did.

Second bloke says we rely on Franklin too much, really missed Blakely in the end of the year, McDonald to play a bit more, Stephens should play a bit more and Hickey was a find

Rendell & SOS run their eyes over the Swans list

This was a debacle to listen to.

I've never understood why they don't have fans do list reviews etc. Granted we are all headless chooks on here but gee whiz I'd back any one of us and our knowledge of our list in to do the job over these geese in the media.

That's what Big Footy is for!! But there are enough podcasts out there by fans for each team that already do this.

Yes can't wait for McInerney to fix his kicking. Anything less than 99% DE over the course of a season is pitiful.

Captain Obvious! Must have watched a 10 minute highlights package.

Yeah, well, we actually WATCH the games for starters. Then discuss what we see, so each of us is using more than just our own eyes. For instance, we see when Heeney takes a screamer that Wicks is waiting where the ball would spill if it fell out. No AF points, no stat, but we SEE that stuff.
Rant over.

Sydney Swans general manager Charlie Gardiner reveals contract talks are ongoing with Perth’s Logan McDonald

Sydney have commenced their pursuit of Logan McDonald’s signature, with Swans general manager Charlie Gardiner divulging discussions had commenced to keep the Perth product in Sydney beyond next season.
Selected with pick four in last year’s national draft, the former Demon made an instant impression at the Swans with three goals on debut against Brisbane.
McDonald played seven games in total, kicking nine goals in a promising debut season.
With one year to run on his two-year draft contract, Gardiner said the Swans recognised McDonald’s talent and were in discussions to ensure he was a crucial cog in Sydney’s future, alongside Errol Gulden.

Fremantle and West Coast would be eager suitors if McDonald ever decided to return home.
“Logan McDonald got a taste of it. I think we can expect more from him next year,” Gardiner told Trade Radio.
“We’re in constant discussions with their management. We do see them as very important parts of our future so we’ll work through that.
“Nothing to report as such as of right now but we’ll continue those discussions.
“We certainly see them as really exciting parts of our next competitive crack at it. After two years of missing the finals, we were pleased to get back into the finals and we’re hoping to stay there.

Master and apprentice: Lance Franklin and Logan McDonald celebrate a goal. No
“We think we’ve got the nucleus of a really strong side. We want to continue to see that development. I still think we have a fair bit of improvement from within.”
Coach John Longmire also has high expectations for 19-year-old McDonald, backing him to step up and support veteran Lance Franklin next year in a new-look forward line.
“We’d like to be able to introduce Logan a bit more alongside Lance next year,” Longmire told AFL.com.au.
“We think the growth for him to come into the team is there and quite significant as well. If we can bring Logan into the team, Isaac (Heeney) can play a bit more midfield and vice versa.”
Gardiner also confirmed Sydney would look to play hard ball with Adelaide as the two clubs try to settle on a trade for Jordan Dawson.

The Swans rate Dawson as arguably the best player in the open market and will demand fair compensation to see the trade completed.
“We weren’t expecting to be in this situation. We were hopeful of extending Jordan’s contract long-term,” Gardiner said.
“If not the best player on the open market at the moment, he’s certainly one of. We think it’s important to do what’s in the best interests of our club and get a fair deal for him.
“What I will say and what we’ve said before is how highly we rate Jordan and in circumstances in which we had a long-term deal in front of him, he’s coming into his prime as a 24-year-old, we see a very bright future for him.”
