Plus, it's hard to imagine Taylor agreeing to leave the Pies and Victoria with a year to play on his contract and (I would imagine, plenty of suitors) if he hadn't been next to guaranteed a starting place in our seniors.
I have no doubt that part of our discussion with Adams would have been our hope/expectation that he would play a major role in improving our clearance performance. Hardly in the 2s!

This is the segment Bedford referred to I think.
They don't see Adams starting 🤣 and us finishing 5 or 6th.
I thought the discussion was pretty reasonable.
Grundy is a huge in, maybe the best acquisition of the off-season
McCartin is an unsung hero that gets ignored by the media but gets plenty of love from within the club.
The forward line has massive potential. The young talls will kick plenty of goals, but maybe aren't ready to kick grand final goals (If that makes sense)
Heeney having a big season (which he is capable of) is a key to success
Adams if fit could be a big in, just dont want him to be selected in front of Warner, Rowbum

Assessment of Draw - but it seems purely based on where the previous team finished. I'd like a stats guru to provide some further clarity & add in Home vs Away data on this I reckon.

Different animal to Warner. He'll most likely start in Mills' shoes. The bloke who'll push him out is Gus.

Agree different to Warner and should share time with Parker

Adams is close to the first selected inside mid imo.

I was paraphrasing what the they spoke about in the broadcast.
They were basically saying that, Adams, if fit, will be a good addition. But they didn't want him playing in front of Rowbum, Warner and the likes.. I agree - the continued development of our young players is very important (and very enjoyable to watch)
Probably unpopular, but I was never a big fan of the trade.
1.. Hes been very injury prone, and soft tissue injuries tend to get worse after 30
2.. I reckon our midfield will be stronger (Agree, it needs to be) with the addition of Grundy and players like Rowbum and Warner a year older, an extra 20 games and another pre-season.
3.. I think Sheldrick will be the one that misses out due to Adams playing. Id love to see Gus play 20 games this year.

He played every game last year up to the Prelim. Parker, Warner & Mills didn't.

This debate took place when he was traded. Adams has a long history of soft tissue injuries.
'23 - 23 games but missed finals
'22 - 18 games
'21 - 14 games
'20 - 19 games
'19 - 12 games
Soft tissue injuries only get worse past 30 years of age

True, but it looks like we will now have the depth to cover if indeed he does go down.

Our physio's have had so much practice dealing with Sam Reid, Taylor Adams should be a breeze for them

Adams was someone Collingwood fans wanted OUT of their midfield and when McCrae made that move it proved beneficial. Not saying he can't be good for us but I can see why the media might be meh on him.
Hmm, interesting not nearly as dynamic as a Stephens, Rowbottom or Florent could be in the midfield. I couldn't help myself, I'll see myself out and serve a ban lol
