I wouldn't be surprised if Melbourne rest players. In all likelihood Collingwood and Brisbane/Port Adelaide have shored up top two spots before our game even starts. Barring freak upsets, Melbourne will know top two is off limits, so they will likely be desperate to lose and stay in 4th so they can play Collingwood at the G week one of finals as opposed to one of the other two away.

Not saying they'll tank, but I think they'll tank.
You make an excellent point ☝️👍

I'd be tempted to bring in arnold and gould this week. It's not ideal and we still need to win the game, but our kpd stocks are threadbare and need everyone we can to be ready
Remember Melican was going ok and played well yesterday , he is first choice

Hope someone remembers to give Grundy a tour of the new training facilities and a couple of good Sydney cafes while he’s in town.

… and intros to wine makers in the Hunter Valley.

Given his interests in wine, Port or Sydney may come down to the Coonawarra v Hunter Valley

I really hope Paddy turns up on Sunday. Fair to say he was as quickly beloved by the fans as any player we have had.

Will be emotional and hard for him but he will remember for the rest of his life the groundswell of emotion and admiration from the Bloods fans and the footy community more generally.

If Melbourne tank to avoid a difficult clash, I wouldn’t be surprised if they then go out in straight sets.

A winning culture is critical at this time of the year. Scratch that, it is critical always. Only a fool would tank.

Yeah, Whenever you're manipulating results to make your path easier, you've already conceded that you fear your opposition.

The anyone, anywhere mantra is much more in line with a winner's mentality.

He shouldn't be there apparently.
I couldn't have been more right with my thoughts & was hammered for it.

Geelong last year were resting players all the way leading into finals because they were ahead and didn't need to win. The result was a fully fit squad firing on all cyllinders come September. You take every advantage you can get in footy and Melbourne would be losing for a home final. It's about as coveted a thing you can get in footy.

You got hammered for saying Paddy should get an SCG send off?
Not exactly, Bedford doesn't think Paddy should join Buddy, he believes Sunday should be for Buddy alone and Paddy gets the GF farewell, but as far as I read, he's the only one.
