Think Danger had the best idea.
Expansion draft.
Tassie can take up to 2 players off every afl list. Teams get FA compo level picks in return. Then normal draft hand beyond that.
1 compromised draft. Then Tassie can get assistance picks like other struggling clubs that have a sook if they are bad in 2 years time
They just won't get enough good players from established clubs.
Good in theory, but won't work in practice.
It is like saying North Melbourne should be able to use their salary cap space, to get 3 or 4 free agents and move up the ladder quickly. It is simply too hard to get free agency targets, and Tasmania won't find it any easier.
Even Crows struggle badly to get players to come to Adelaide.
