I wouldn't totally write off St. Kilda, simply because they've got Alan Richardson coaching them. He was really tight with Ken Hinkley last year and will probably coach in a similar way, so if St. Kilda can just shut up and do what they're told and be grownups and do what Richo tells them he will extract everything out of them. And it just might be enough to sneak into 8th if absolutely everything goes right for them.
Not saying I think that will happen, just saying it's possible.
Didn't you lose the match Hinkley didn't coach? I think it'd take more than Richardson to get an ageing team without Dal Santo and McEvoy into the finals.
Essendon and Richmond definitely won't make the 8? After finishing 5th and 8th last year? You've got a bit of a complex about these clubs don't you.great question;
on ability ; melbourne, giants, bulldogs, lions, saints and essendon
richmond made the finals last year and that only happens once a decade .... so add them
Kicked a lot more than that the year before, he's capableI don't know how 7 goals from Rockliff can be considered chipping in. He is a good player but cant really be considered a goal kicker in any capacity. That included him playing forward quite a bit earlier in the season too.
Percentage had nothing to do with. To make the finals we needed to beat Geelong in round 23 (we lost by 1 point), and we needed Port to beat Carlton in round 23(they lost by 1 point also). You're dreaming if you think that's a mile off?
You were two wins and serious percentage off the eight in 2013 - that's not a bees dick that's a bloody mile off.
I will take into account your "what ifs", but only if you take into account Norths numerous "What ifs" and Essendon not being ejected, in which case you would still be nowhere near it. I'm sorry. I know what it's like to be bias, but you need to realise when you are doing so.Percentage had nothing to do with. That's plain silly! Every year there are clubs that have just two chances of playing finals - "Buckley's & Nunn". All teams may start '0', but you just know the Saints, GWS, & Demons will NOT play finals. As George Orwell said, "Everyone is equal. Its just that some are more equal".I am not ruling out anyone. Everyone starts at 0.

Yeah, I think it was the first game we lost all year. And Richo has a hard road ahead of him with that list. But I think St. Kilda have got themselves a really good, grounded coach. Now they gotta keep him.

Agree with this. Far too early to make a call, on the balance of probabilities it will be those less experienced teams who will struggle to make the 8 but nothing is locked in. GWS will probably be better than a handful of teams this year, their development doesn't need to mimic Gold Coast's to show they're on the right track.
think our list may surprise a few this yearSpecially if you consider that the anchor player for GC happens to be the best in the league. Think I'd be bullish about GWS over the next few years if I was a fan.
Yeah pretty much.
Look I'm not knocking Brisbane, I think they had really turned a corner come the end of the year, but they were MILES off playing finals.
Anyone claiming they were a bees dick away is wearing glasses so heavily rose tinted they are almost opaque.
