I respect others right to an opinion but I cant understand why his future is being debated anymore.

He's done and everyone knows it.

There's not a rational argument that can be mounted anymore. The board has given him every opportunity and backed him to the hilt. This is on him now. He's promised improvement and it hasn't happened. He's talked development and it hasn't eventuated.

Even if you reckon the list is farrrked and someone else wouldn't do any better we're now at the "let's try something else" stage. It simply isn't working for Buckley or our club and the longer this goes on the more we slip towards irrelevance.

I'd have thought the quote "There’s nothing in the charter that says Collingwood have to play finals every year because it is a pretty tough comp" was the apex of pathetic cop outs from the coach.

I've just read that today and think it is one of the weakest acceptance of mediocrity I've heard. I actually thought it must've been a misquote at first. If McGuire reckons a senior coach coming out with bullshit like that should be leading this club forward then this club is in bigger trouble than we all thought.

I was there today and the problem (at least today) was with players and coach.

Players
Overuse of handball.
Poor vision, especially going inside 50.
Lack of overlap running for big patches.

Coaching
Watching our defensive structures vs Hawthorns was horrible. We pushed up so hard leaving NO ONE at home and they crucified us maybe five times.
By contrast, when we had fast rebounds, our forwards were always outnumbered.
Our players seem unsure how to run the angles and create the spare overlap player.

Good post but today it was extremely poor coaching from all in the box. After today, think that Buckley may have made his own bed.
Also I think the game was lost on Thursday with a couple of selections.
Hawthorn more often than not had a wall of three players all unattended in our back line.
When Goldsack went off, it was more than time to move Greenwood (I would have had him on Mitchell at the start of the game) and moved Crisp forward.

Bucks is the reason Treloar and Adams are at Collingwood. Paid ridiculous overs for two players that can't kick for shit.

Yeah they are a couple he was keen on, and the problem being that they are a couple of our leading mids.

When they are on they can be very effective...but hurt us when playing poorly, with some absolute horrible cough ups.

The bounce has a 'coach killer's segment, could fill it with just Pie mistakes today.

I am more critical of the players.

It is not Bucks gifting the ball up, seriously we can't execute simple 20m passes.

The coach doesn't instruct his players to kick the ball to their opposition, if our cattle even supposedly skilled guys like WHE.

Howe just hitting up Mitchell from a kick-out, Adams spotting up Hawks across HB, Treloar handballing to nobody...can partially excuse a kid like Phillips as he is still feeling comfortable.

Bucks is the easy target, but the problems at Collingwood are much greater than Buckley.

Don't get the squeamishness. Had 6 years had good results a Prelim and finals in 13. How many coaches do that? But no one should get life tenure. Other clubs change coaches all the time. What's the difference? Just make the change if need be.

2012 was the year he changed nothing by his own admission, 2013 we looked worse than a shadow of the side we used to be and got humiliated by Port that were also rubbish that year in one and only final on our own turf..

Buckley as a coach has been as good to us as Ebola to Africa.

Well if this was the world game Bucks would of been gone 3 years ago. Why oh why is our club so patient with our position...Bet if we had an 1st time outsider take over from MM would of been long gone by now.

I couldn't believe that when I heard it. If we accept no finals for four years and going backwards every year we have truly lost our way as a club.
