I think there would be a finite pool of potential rookies that grows smaller every year. Internet forums aren't exactly booming. By what percentage does the BigFooty userbase grow every 6 months and then what percentage of players each SFA season are rookies? I would not be surprised if the latter is still higher and like others have said, you've been going for nearly 25 years, the number of existing users that have never heard of this place would be very low.

Probably a high number who don't understand what the board is, though.

A couple of bumper rookie classes and we're back sitting on toadstools with the same group of fairies again.

Sounds like a great BigFooty Sweet FA Census could be the move!

My feeling is that this class will see a lot of late bloomers.

There may be some initial head scratching about whoever the eventual winner is, but in 3/4 seasons time we'll look back and say "oh yes, of course".

This class may be a little slow out of the gate, but it has potential.

Problem is, Bigfootys platform is very outdated. most of the posters here are older generation posters who probably aren't interested in something like the SFA and the ones who are, have already tried it out or played here in the past.

Honestly think the SFA needs to move to a different platform.

Given I wasn’t here pre-32 I’ll take your word for it. And it’s a very fair point that life is returning to normal post Covid and many things are regressing. What was, in your opinion, the standard for rookies pre-C19?

If you’re using Season 32 as the standard of a “quality” rookie class. Then let’s compare it to the few seasons before it—-

Each of the five rookie classes before S32 have produced as many (or in many cases) more quality contributors to the league than S32.

As I mentioned in my previous post—- Season 30 is an outlier as it’s a combination of COVID lockdowns starting and a few people putting in huge amounts of effort to recruit.

A “large” rookie class helps rookie engagement as it allows rookies to banter with rookies and learn the league. There’s currently minimal banter that occurs across the league that doesn’t rely understanding the history and lore of the past few seasons.

Take me back to the “goon & Kittens” Furies, the “Chudshake” Roys and the genuinely antagonistic Bombers.

The league currently misses the AntonioBluVein, Tony Lynn style villains
