Forget the scoreboard this was a smashing:

We won disposals by 17 and yet lost inside 50s 63-41.

We won hit outs by 25 and yet lost clearances 29-39, centre clearances 10-18.

Nicks press conference focussed on we lost the contest and blamed that and yet we only lose contested possessions by 14. We were up uncontested possessions by 27.

Those stats clearly showed we lost this on gameplan and ball movement. More disposals, more uncontested possessions but smashed in inside 50s.

Our midfield and ruck work was shit. But hey let’s keep Schoenberg out of there.

Nicks is a ****ing moron and anyone still on the Nicks train is clueless.

And still played 82% TOG whilst Crouch ambles around stat padding for 68%. Playing him and Laird is a huge limiting factor.

Rachele is a genuine concern. Multiple opportunities to take over head marks and failed.

Hanging around looking for the cheap ball rather than get the hard ball himself.

Has been a concern for a long time, I think I may have posted my concerns regularly.....Rachele was put into the midfield for half a qtr, and strolled up & down the centre square for most of that period .....he was in no-man's land ......meanwhile, Soligo was helping his defenders in the goal square

Question for the group:

Did the side come out onto the MCG and play slow possession kick and catch football while trying to defend the game to death? Only to reach a point midway through the 3rd quarter, Nicks decided to flick a switch and we went to all out attack.

You mean when he was averaging 20 disposals and kicked 10.10 in the first 8 weeks of last season and looked a totally different defensive player in there that even Southerntakeover made a comment that he would have fun at Collingwood. But Nicks hasn't given him a slight look this season until Rankine got injured and even when that happened and Nicks said Rachele will play midfield minute last week, he didn't really played midfield but only attended a majority of CBA.
