Bahahahaha, wasn't that final a semi-final anyway? still need to get through a prelim before they could even talk about a premiership
Yeah, 2009 semi-final. But if they'd won that they would have smashed Geelong in the prelim the following week (Geelong only beat Collingwood by 12 goals) and then smashed St Kilda in the GF the following week.
These are the same numpties who keep saying that the Cows would have smashed Geelong in the 2007 GF. That's the same Cows' team that was eliminated by the Hakws in the Elimination Final. The Hawks then lost to the Kangaroos and we smashed the Kangaroos by 87 points in the prelim.

To be fair, Geelong didn't smash the saints in 2009, iirc saints led most of the day and lost the game in the last 5 minutes.

Not the point, Collingwood beat the Cows by 5pts but were smashed by Geelong the following week. If that free hadn't been paid and the Cows had won by a point do you seriously believe that they would have been a 12 goal better side the following week?

They tipped Richmond to smash us cause they won 9 in a row, the jumper fiasco, and Chaplin was going to make us look silly.

They tipped Fremantle to end our season cause they finished top 4 and were playing at home.

not surprised they're tipping Hawthorn because they've had a weeks rest and it's at the MCG .....
To be fair it would only be tipping the reverse of any of those none that would be biased or parochial.

There are still crows supporters around who think that they are the side that steps up for finals, despite the fact people that were conceived the last time it happened are close to age of consent themselves now.

I don't care about hypotheticals or the crows.
You stated Geelong smashed the saints in the GF, it was by no means a smashing and that was what my post pointed out.

They won 7 finals in 1997-1998.

They've won 6 finals since.

Sorry, missed your point but I never said that Geelong smashed St Kilda.

I don't care about hypothetical either and I imagine that living in Tassie you don't have to put up with 90% of the people you work with being Cow supporting numpties. :)

I must have misread your OP :)

I am working with an Adelaide supporter who is barracking for port but says its a lot easier to do in Tassie compared to SA.

Pretty sure I have said it on this site before (I know I did on TPFP) but when those "right in front of me" people say that to me, I respond that they need to go back to the first quarter where Tippo got one for exactly the same thing.
Crows fans are famous for their selective memories. They love to bring up the freak Monfries bounce in Showdown 35, but don't want to talk about the goal Robbie Gray was robbed of in the first half - why is that???

Doesn't suit their victimized agenda IE Right in front of me

What about 2012? they made the prelim and lost to hawthorn by 5 points, they still waffle on that they were a kick away from the grand final.

At the end of last season Kochie said, "I don't want to be one of those clubs that keeps referring back to the past, that keeps saying, 'oh we were one kick away from this'"

It's not just cows fans, something that happens in the last minute always seems to carry more weight than what has gone before.

What if that kick was in the back pocket?

Don't take things so literally man.

It's just an expression, it just means they were one straight kick through the big posts away from a win. Same as we were one kick away from beating Essendon this year.

Yep, and we were only 20 kicks away from the 2007 premiership.......
