Channel 7 trying to pay off the bill for the television rights to the Olympics on the first night.

Imagine if Boak, Hinkely and Hammer were the captain coach and vc of Richmond/Collingwood and put in efforts they have over the past 2 years. Wouldn't mind some articles ripping them all to shreds, they deserve it.

Not really. Finishing ninth 2 years in a row is par for the course for Richmond.

Did lol at Bruce losing his shit over over the shirtless oily tongan guy carrying their flag

The Adelaide media are sooo pro-Crow...

Rowey last week "who's worse, Port or the Australian Cricket team..."

Channel 7 News tonight " Kyle Chalmers...son of Adelaide AFL player, Brett"

No wonder I don't listen very often!

Forget what Rowe says. Full stop.
As for the Chalmers bit, obviously they're going to go with his fathers ties to a local AFL club as compared to his time at The Magpies. It's like me expecting to hear "Chad Wingard, ex Sturt gun".
It ain't the story they want to put out. They're playing to the mass market and that doesn't involve the story of a father that played state league footy, it's one that involves his father playing at the highest level. Pretty obvious really.

He played for both our AFL and SANFL sides.

I get where you're coming form with the Chad comparison but 140 games and four premierships is a bit different to, what, a couple of seasons as a kid.

Just as well you didn't listen to SEN today then. I'll put it another context for you to try and wrap your paranoid block around.
Tom Harley's son wins gold in the Olympics, it's reported as "son of dual Geelong premiership captain Tom Harley" or Port Adelaide one game player.
Or take Mattners kid winning gold, how's it going to be reported, "sturt or Sydney premiership player"?
FFS, stop being so ignorant of how the media perceives things.

You do realise Chalmers played for Port in the AFL after he was with the Crows dont you?

Totally destroys your arguement...

Welcome to our board, but please note that you're actually not the first Crows supporter with a medically certified superiority complex to visit it.

If the media wanted to be truthful they'd say "Port Lincoln local boy Kyle Chalmers wins gold" and in the article they'd quietly mention "Son of former South Australian, AFL footballer Brett Chalmers".

Who cares if he's a Port Adelaide Ambassador?

Of course I do, jeez, it's how the media perceive things. You guys are going on about some SA media conspiracy against your club. SEN didn't even mention Port Power concerning his sons great achievement today. Do you really think the media does any real research these days? Sure they could've mentioned games played for Port Power in the AFL but guess what, the story is about the kid and not the handful of games his dad played at Power at the end of his career. **** me it's like saying Brereton was a Collingwood player.
How much lint have you discovered in your collective navels over this travesty?

I agree with you on how it should've been reported but obviously no one outside of The LeFevre Peninsula cares what sort of ambassador he is. Should they?

An ambassador is there to promote the club they support, that's it.

Unfortunately in this state lots of your simpleton ambassadors in the media think being one requires throwing so much vitriol our way it's a surprise that their unused eye doesn't fall out.

It's tiring, grating and downright juvenile. It's no longer 1990, the SANFL is almost dead and Port Adelaide is no longer the bad guy.

You mean a career that spanned 10 years for which 7 of them were at Port which netted him 4 premierships, a Jack Oatey medal and a Port Adelaide life membership?
yep. Crows legend

Chalmers left Adelaide as soon as HIS club joined the AFL. Couldnt get out of West Lakes quick enough. He even tried to draft tamper just so he could play for a team that wasnt Adelaide.

You can talk as much trash as you want but the facts are Chalmers is a Port champion who spent a couple of years with your mob because he had no other options if he wanted to play AFL.. until he did have an option then came home.

Both Brett and Kyle are Port through and through as was noted a year or so ago when Brett was awarded a PAFC life membership with his whole family there at the AGM kitted up in Port gear

He loved Adelaide about as much as Abernethy and Hodges did

Incredible just watching CH7 even now and they still haven't clued into the fact that he's Port through and through AND a Power ambassador. Not one mention. Nation wide conspiracy I tells ya!
Papa G had it pretty well spot on.
You dont get it do you. No one cares if they dont bring up the Port connection UNLESS they bring up a crows connection
