Despite a breakdown in relationships in 21, that forced Clarko out a year early. The Hawks coaching transition, was actually fairly well done.
Mitchell had 3 years at the club, including coaching Box Hill to build a rapport with the group. It's been seamless compared to our coaching changes over the last 5 years.
Continuity and stability are the big advantages the Hawks have had over us. Been able to steadily build under the one message, and not have to chop, change and re-start due to poor coaching appointments.

Agreed, and to repeat myself from a few weeks ago:
For all the hand-wringing about Hawthorn, it's worth remembering that Mitchell has coached 60 consecutive games. Clarko has coached us for 28, with a spell of 11 missed games between his 9th and 10th game as coach.

Mitchell's 28th game was a narrow loss to Adelaide in Launceston that saw them sitting 1-5 on the bottom of the ladder last year (their only win being against us, also in Launceston).

It’s everything really. You can have all the talent in the world but with no stability, you will never go anywhere.
That’s what made the Clarko signing so important. His status as one the all time great coaches insures there will be stability for the next 5 years at a minimum.
Of course, this was nearly derailed all before it even began with the bullsh*t racism saga.
This year is basically ground zero.
We just need to stay the course & it will turn. When we are start winning a few more & getting that belief, we will rise quickly under Clarko.

Is Tex Walker a stop gap to help Larkey out for 2025 an option?
Or are we looking at a bigger stop gap?
While having Tex as a stop gap for a season would be ok by me l cant see him leaving Adelaide. He will either stay there with a 1 year contract or retire. Teakle can still be our CHF until we can get someone ellse. We need to work with the young players we have coming through. Maybe 1 of our backs can be trained to play CHF like Comben has been trained to play on the backline. We need keep our younger players to reinstall the shinboner spirit and play for the club and not the money...

None of them are big names that had big offers in front of them from multiple clubs… they are shrewd trade targets that Hawks paid more for than others were offering.
They missed out on plenty too. They went hard after McKay but lost out to Essendon. They offered Ratugolea more than port (bullet dodged) & Liam Henry choose St.Kilda over them.
They instead got Chol (in & out @ GC) D’Ambrossio (wasn’t getting a game at Essendon) & Ginnivan (in & out of the side, sub for GF - was pushed out by Collingwood)
They are well coached club that has a history/culture of winning & wont miss out on getting the big name targets in the coming years if they keep going on their current trajectory.
I’m hopeful we can emulate their rise next season.
Multiple teams were chasing Chol and Ginnivan.

As long as you dont fumble, turn over and get burned on the rebound when your out of position.
A big yes Koshari, though you must expect this to happen at times because when you apply this method over and over, its the relentless pressure that will panic the opposition. Less mistakes means more pressure, and better ball handling, and of course the big thing when you do this is to kick the goal, when your kicking points, how often do you see the opposition take it down the other end and goal?

It was actually shocking how quickly the GMHBA surface turned into a pigsty last night. idk what they're spending the govt handouts on but it obviously isn't the surface.
Ironic really.

Make sure the Corporates have sun absorbing NASA designed shaded windows and German made seats while the plebs slog it out on a cow paddock.

No thanks. I think we can do better than Tex. I agree, he is unlikely to leave Adelaide anyway.
