Logically, idealistically, I dare say the core of the argument is; If people work hard they'll succeed, v. Some simply don't have the resources to do so.

I'm very much in the second camp, and I suggest that as the wealth gap continues to widen, more and more humans will be born in less than fortune circumstances, thus aplifying the situation.

The other obvious side of this argument is "positive affirmation" or action.

1) These people need to understand that giving to others (even just acknowledgement) does NOT take away from them.
