Nekminit. Crows roll out retaliatory showdown guernsey.

The attitude of the guy on the left. Marching with intent in his hybrid (lol) guernsey, leaving wifey to walk a pace or two behind.

He is literally dripping with insecurity.

Like every sporting club in the world we should be able to wear whatever the fk we like.

We should be able to wear what's ours. Some cynics will try and tell us that it's not ours, that it belongs to the "real Port" or the SANFL or some such nonsense.
The crows wearing the state jumper is just ludicrous however.

They have also sliced right through their logo. I bet they kneel when 'Power to Win' comes on as well.

Oh man, imagine if they did do something like that.

Wear a different SANFL guernsey for each showdown on a rotation. Oh the angst that would cause!!!!!

For that reason alone they wouldn't do it. They're a giant PR machine. Had they any nuts they'd have just worn the state jumper for the first AO showdown in 2014, but they backed away due to the public backlash. There was certainly no rule stipulating they couldn't wear it.

I thought the SANFL wet the bed after former state legends spoke out and reneged on their permission?

Although considering the two organisations are in bed together, it would be difficult to determine exactly who broke seal first.

Vote #1 Prison Bars - Think this version takes the cake (without the members names) due to the positioning of our logo without a sponsors logo

I don't think we should have anything left to prove in SA. Things will always be the way they are. We're coming in to our second season playing a game in China that was 100% our initiate, and we're still worried about giving the middle finger to the old establishment? It comes off to me like a guy who divorces, moves on to bigger and better things, but is left an enormous chip on his shoulder and drives past his ex's house in his new luxury car with supermodels in the passengers seat, because **** her. What happened to us looking beyond 5014?

I just don't want to legitimise the bastard court room constipated test pattern babies by wheeling out the finest football guernsey in the land that's full of success, pride, and heritage just for them, especially when we can't even reliably beat them cause we have head issues since Walsh. I still remember us wheeling out the Back in Back before it was full time for a showdown and getting thumped.

I won't jump up and down about it, maybe I'll come around to it, like many came around to the number panel (that I was always for), but it's a funny old concept that feels a bit iffy to me.

I think this whole debate about the merits of wearing the prison bars in the Showdown is a case of not seeing the wood for the trees. I remain convinced that it's just a backdoor manouever to bring the prison bars back into the spotlight as a regular guernsey and make them seem acceptable to the wider football public before we strike and make them our full time home guernsey a few years down the track. The Showdown being two showpiece games per year is just the easiest and most convenient vehicle by which we can do this.

Nah, it's an opportunity to wear our true colours.

Who gives a shit what they think.

Yeah I understand that thought process. I personally just think it is time to move on. The BiB guernsey is great and should be our locked in jumper for the next 50+ years. The PB's should be nothing other than a throwback/history round edition.
