From what I've been told, I think we'll all be happy on a regular basis.
Please say for Showdowns (even better as an away guernsey).

PLEASE!!!

While we're on the topic of foot gloves, b&w hooped socks with our alternate kit (ie when we wear the home guerns w/ white shorts against GC, Hawthorn & NM) would look insane.

Having unique socks is massively underrated by the black only brigade.

How many kids/people at training etc. do you see wearing Port socks as opposed to Crows socks? Teams have their training guernseys etc. but socks are usually personal preference.

There may be 100's wearing Port colours (as in black), but you only notice those wearing Crows socks, Black and white (or even black with a white and teal turn down) would e great.

Wearing it regularly is the key tactic here. Once it’s seen more often, and showdowns rate well in Melbourne, the barriers against us wearing it become less rigid.

We’ve come a long way baby, don’t lose patience now.
Didn't think of that, the Showdown is often the only neutral Port game most people will watch.

On the subject of prison bar combo's, it's the '14 EF combo with either white or black shorts or GTFO. It's the most iconic version and looks the best. Let's not actually get this beautiful jumper back in regular use and start arguing over back panels, socks, or the thickness of the stripes ffs. Jesus Christ.

Ps - **** the hooped socks. It's black socks all the way.

You're like one of those little devices that feeds pure crack to mice in a lab. I see the avatar, I get a tingle and I have to read.

Will we be happy once a year, twice, or multiple times you think?

If, and I said IF, the idea is to wear the prison bars in showdowns only it's about presenting the club in its most iconic, opposition fan rage inducing form possible on field. It's not to aesthetically satisfy a bunch of hipsters and design gurus. Keep it simple.

I absolutely adore this guernsey but I'd be concerned about having too many guernseys in regular rotation. I think it's silly when a team like Brisbane trot out 4 or 5 different kits every year. You don't see teams like Collingwood or Essendon changing things up too much. My only regret is that the above kit wasn't worn at home from day 1 and even in place of the BiB.

The above, but with the magpies / current AFL back, is what we should've rocked as a main Guernsey from day 1. Modern and sleek in 97 and still is now, but somehow feels a bit classic.

I understand the love of the bars, they do look stunning and have strong heritage, but I love our current look and don't think we are doing our identity any favours if we are changing it constantly. I'd stick with it.

I love the BiB jumper we wear now, and despite being thoroughly against the white panel I actually think it works really well.

I have been on the fence with switching back to the prison bars since we recently changed our home jumper. The EF was amazing though, and it would help our identity a lot internally to switch back. I think it’s been long enough with our current jumper to make the transition to the Prison Bars as our home jumper, with the white BiB as our away jumper.

No disrespect to Dylan and edgie, but it surprises me none that the main opposition to this being a "showdowns only" guernsey is coming from a guy in Melbourne and a guy in NSW.
Showdowns are the perfect vehicle for this. This is about marking our territory as SA's oldest, most successful, most iconic club. It's about giving a big "**** you" to the SA football establishment who tried to destroy us, the other SANFL clubs who either didn't have the balls to try and make it to the big league, sought a merger with another club to do so, or simply fell over when it all got too hard.
It's about raising a middle finger to all those crow supporting 1870 history deniers, and to those who claim we went behind the state's back in 1990. This is a "**** you" to them all. We survived as one, you all sought compromise and didn't.

This is "Never Tear Us Apart" on steroids.

Agree. Classic case of "too many cooks" wanting to have their say in the early days which ended up with the SBS home guernsey.

This simpler one is to be cherished and should be used on certain occasions as a nod to our (AFL) past, but as you say, not overused.

I've just run through a brick wall after reading that.
