The term '**** up' originates to medieval archery. One of the three feathers on an arrow is a ****'s feather. If the arrow was incorrectly placed on the bow for drawing and release, the arrow would go off course because of the ****'s feather being up and therefore the arrow positioned wrongly on the bow. This is all based on the assumption that I knew Portia was a transgender person, which I did not. Had I known, I would've been able to recognise that her reaction was more than the normal argy bargy that is par for the course in this thread and posted with more sensitivity. I didn't think the video was offensive, but understand now that it was not appropriate for this community given all of the above.

I feel awful that Portia feels she needs to leave the forum - I assume because of our argument, but we don't know that. I have apologised to her privately for my lack of discretion. If anyone knows her, tell her I would be happy to not contribute if that would make her feel more welcome. This forum is a play thing for me, I enjoy it but don't really need it in my life.

However, I totally reject the notion that the subsequent conversation was anything other than a disagreement and I will absolutely stand by everything I said - it is still there, feel free to review it. I was nothing but conciliatory and polite despite some pretty vicious stuff coming back my way.

This isnt just for you, but for anyone - people need to be *very* careful with what they're accusing me of. I do not take those sort of assertions lightly. You do not get to misrepresent me as anything other than tactless.

My suggestion would be to move on from here, everything that needs to be said has been said, and would encourage the mods to enforce that - Ford Fairlane Macca19 TeeKray Forzaport

The problem with that film was it was so freaking hammy. The bad guy always seemed 5 seconds away from twirling his moustache and tieing a damsel to the railroad tracks.

Comic book adaptations really kicked off with Spider-Man and beyond. A Marvellish reboot could work but the purple suit doesn't leave much wiggleroom.

That they did. Spider-Man was massive at the time and a real breath of fresh air in the genre. It's definitely something of a shame to see how shallow and plastic all the movies in that style have become since. Also we just made a connection from The Phantom to Spider-Man. Bruce Campbell gets around.

I think I've caught up now, had to go about twenty pages back, this thread moves way too fast. Plus I've been on night shift this past week, so haven't really been able to keep up with happenings here except between flights.

I too was unaware that Portia is trans, and like I said before, I really enjoyed her input in the podcast and her draft insight, I especially enjoyed listening to the podcast from draft night. I left /r/afl because I was sick of all the bullshit happening there, and this forum will be poorer without her. I hope she returns.

Bullying people out of the forum is pretty pathetic. I understand ScooterBrother didn't mean this to happen but I can't say the same for others.

I admit, I do have a chuckle when I remember how Chokito was ran out of town...

Even the Chokito thing went too far (unpopular opinions thread maybe?).

I'm not saying he wasn't at fault. I was initially defending him until he went full retarp and took it to Twitter, but I think he copped it pretty heavy from the outset. Perhaps it was just a reflection of the general anger at the club's piss poor management of the event, I dunno.

Anyway I don't want to equate it in any way to Portia's case but I think we could all be a little kinder on here (myself included) to each other at times.

Was he though? He got called out for shamelessly flaunting his conspirated entitlement, concocted an obvious lie instead of putting his hand up, was called out on that, then chose to respond by being a chirpy douchebag before taking his bat and ball and choofing off.

A simple mea culpa would've sufficed, but he made himself look silly and the club store look like a bunch of unprofessional chodes.
