It wasn't a joke DH, to a hell of a lot of footy followers its like they've been in an eternal rebuild, it's a forum, not everything you read will be exactly what you want to hear.

eternal
/ɪˈtəːn(ə)l,iːˈtəːn(ə)l/
adjective

  1. 1.
lasting or existing forever; without end.
    "the secret of eternal youth"
Carlton played finals in 2013 and started rebuilding in 2015.
If you think 3 years is eternal, go help yourself to a book ffs. (recommend a dictionary)
Unless you're trolling and you know full well that this is fact.

So what are you, stupid or trolling? Pick one (minimum).

Andrews is a freak, saw he’s stats the other day, elite in so many areas of he’s game, he could be the best defender in the comp one day.
Losing Docherty has really hurt our denfense, he was top 2 in the league, for his position and a real general down back, also one of the only star senior players we had, has the ability to make other defenders better, which is super important to a young side.
How good could Brisbane have been with the list they have now, plus Docherty Yeo and Polac, it doesn’t matter as they have recovered really well and have put together really balanced and exciting young list of players that genuinely want to be there, made the tough call cutting there losses on Schache he had way to much baggage and could of had a negitive effect on team moral.

We have Kerr, Mcgovern, Levi Casboult and De Koning. Plenty to fill 1-2 holes. We can even send one of Marchbank or Plowman forward even possibly Jones or Weitering.

Kerr is in danger of being delisted & Casboult is a FA next year so he may leave as well.

Marchbank & Plowman in attack ?? I accept that strange things can happen but that would only eventuate in the most desperate of situations.

As for Jones & Weitering in attack …………. Jones played all of his career as a forward and was complete liability so he isn't going to be moved there whilst Weitering was trialled as a forward for one season and it set his development back 18-months, once again, he isn't going there again either.

I agree with most of the things you said. I was debating the point if we lost a couple forwards we don't have any depth in our forward line. Of course we have options. I listed them. Not many sides have a group of players to come in a replace KP forwards. Maybe 1 each side. We have Kerr at the bare minimum and we are playing casboult at the expense of Curnow at the moment. I'd say Kerr (after watching him live v Coll last weekend) is a similar prospect to having casboult in the side and has heaps of upside. He works his arse off and will remain on our list for a long time imho.

Hugh is on 11 AFLCA votes, Walsh is on 5 FYI

Hugh is in his third season though.

If what Walsh is producing now is his floor it's genuinely scary how good he'll be.

I'd still take cluggers though, cute af and best mates with the berry boys

Carlton have taken some huge strides forward this year. I had bet on Hawthorn today in a multi and had pretty much given it up for dead given how impressive Carlton were looking. It feels like the difference between Carlton and Hawthorn today was experience, and Carlton's youngsters will develop that in time. I can see them challenging for the finals next season.

We won down in Hobart last year.

Irrefutable proof that Carlton aren't a year behind us tbh

1.5 years. We dont have a core of senior midfielders carrying the team like Neale, Zorko, Robinson and Lyons.

Has to come from Cripps, Walsh, SPS, Fisher and Dow. Just not mature enough yet, unless we can snag a Coniglio or something.

Hugh is a bloody gun, but Walsh is a cyborg and not of this realm.

Have watched both plenty this year.
be wary of ones self and over-excitement over your players
you may end up confused with an essendon supporter :p

Walsh is excellent.
He's not at Clug's level yet. But well on his way to being in the top 10 under 21 players in the comp.

Pretty sure you're the one being facetious doesn't matter when someone beats them
I was indeed! :p

It is false equivalence, though, to equate your rolling of the Hawks in round 17 to us going down by under a kick to them in round 6.

Are you saying you didn't improve between rounds 6 and 17 last year?

No but Hawthorn also improved in that timeframe don't think Hawthorn are playing as well as they did last season taking nothing away from Carlton but they really should won yesterday

1. Isn’t Neale 25 and Cripps like 24? That’s the same. Or close enough not to call one senior and one nor.
2. Didn’t you throw away Robinson
3. Zorko has as much impact in the middle as Murphy. Who you could play in there more of that was your problem.

Not buying your narrative there.
