Rendell regretting he agreed to the extra 3 years we gave him at the end of 2011, but said the super draft of this year was too tempting, so stayed on. Seriously considered the Port assistant job too.
****, Caro and Lyon are seriously pissing me off here, the bloke has explained himself perfectly and they keep badgering him. Thomas and Hutchy have actually been the good ones in this interview!
He is more concerned about the lack of initiative by the AFL on the aboriginal issue than losing his job, said he couldn't care less about that. And definitely doesn't want to be known as a racist, Hutchy saying he won't be.

Rendell holds no grudges towards Triggy at all, this is purely an AFL forced issue, and Rendell knew Triggy had no other option. He even agreed when Triggy said the 'mud is already in the water'! People really need to get this engrained in their heads.

Goodness me. Glad I stayed up for that. Talk about intense. I feel sorry for him. I think he's been burnt firstly by this Jason Misfud fellow and then by Dimitriou. I think he should have been given a chance to defend himself before he had to resign. I've changed my opinion here.

I am sorry but if you are the LEADER of and AFL club it is YOUR job to stand up for your employees. THAT is what LEADERSHIP is. Making decisions to please superiors is NOT leadership! It's piss weak!

It's also important to distinguish whether he said it was actually club policy, or whether he said it would get that way if things didn't improve.

If Misfud was so outraged by the comments, why would he wait two months to tell anyone?
Why would Vlad allow this to be leaked to the press - under AFL overseers?
Why would Vlad on one hand say "if he said it, he better start looking for other employment" and then said he had asked the CEO of the Club involved to have a serious talk about it with his recruiting manager" and then tonight say he didn't demand anything of Trigg?
Something is just not right.

I am disgusted, absolutely sickened with the way rendell has been used as a scape-goat to paper over the real issues.

I wouldn't say the club has burnt him because they had their hand forced but the afl are a disgrace. They let this get out in the media and taken way out of context and obviously Matt was the scapegoat. I mean he was trying to solve the problem for Christs sake. AD is a lying sack of cr*p and will fall on his own sword one day.
I feel so sorry for Matt and hope his name is not tarnished by it all and can go on to live a happy life.
