Watched it last night, was ok but not up there with Year of the Dogs, think mainly because I'm not a Murphy fan and the whole thing seemed to revolve around him rather than the players that got us to the premiership

Not a fan of the bloke who pretty much helped turn the whole joint around in 2015?

Yeah, I had the same reaction.
I'd been looking forward to getting my copy and watching it again during Xmas with my daughter, who accompanied me to the prelim against GWS in Sydney.
We didn't watch it again.
Not only had I already seen most of the vision but I kept seeing Bob Murphy when I wanted to hear from everyone else in the team.
I wanted Murphy as captain when Griffen somehow got the job, so I'm a Murphy fan.
But I would have liked a lot more insider material than what finished up on The Outsiders and a lot less Bob.

Just never got his hype from the very beginning when he first started playing, he just didn't have the X factor that made him stand out in a game like our other captains like Edmond, Kennedy, Wynd, Hawkins.
Fair enough, each to their own. Personally I thought he was the perfect captain for the time. What he achieved as captain in a short space of time was phenomenal.

Absolutely. He attracted positive publicity when the club was being kicked by the football community. Even when he went down he was still the face of the club. Maybe there was a tad too much of him in the doco.

I thought he was the perfect vehicle to tell the story. Both an insider and an outsider. The captain of our club, but forced by circumstances to watch as a fan as we climbed the summit. It wasn’t a perfect doco but I thought Murphy’s perspective was the right way to tell the story.

The original idea stemmed from Adi wanting to document a piece on a well respected AFL player in the twilight years of his career. It started off like this, hence all the Bob stuff - then he basically unexpectedly hit a gold mine. You can see the change in direction and the retrospective footage take over about half way through.

No one in their right mind would of thought to start a documentary on us at the beginning of 2015 knowing that it would conclude in a flag 3 years later.

Watched it Christmas night. I actually called my old man a month before X-Mas and asked him which one of us was buying it for the other for a present so we didn't have 2 copies haha. So we sorted that out and we got together and sat down together on Chrissy and watched it and fought back tears together.

I thought it was awesome(obviously) and essential viewing for any sports fan but while I had that thought I did think would I watch a Richmond version? I came to the conclusion that a Richmond one still wouldn't have been as enthralling but had to accept I was biased.

I especially thought about sport fans in other countries, who didn't know the outcome(even though it's on the cover) or understand the past and recent history of the club. I think they would get a lot of enjoyment out of this regardless of if they were familiar with AFL or not. My one tiny complaint would have been it didn't show enough of our loses. I reckon if you didn't know the 2015-2016 progression it sort of came off that we won every game except for 1 final in 2015. If you were a complete stranger to the AFL you might have been confused as to why we were knocked out so easily in 2015 and why we weren't considered favourites in 2016.

Other than that, it was a great walk down memory lane that'll we'll have for ever. There already has been a lot of re-writing of history of that season - for example that Murphy wasn't that important and that our injuries were over blown etc. This can be used as a bit a time capsule against those claims.

Watched it on Saturday night with one of my sons. Loved it. No issue with Bob's high profile throughout at all…. the guy is a natural story-teller and has embraced the history and traditions of the club from day one. And I loved what he said at the very end of the doco too. The closing shot.

And the good Doctors…… Jakey and Zimmer. (And the rest of the medical staff as well.) Unbelievably important as to what was achieved. Integral. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Ordered pre-Xmas and received it yesterday.

Some of the footage was amazing, never thought they'd capture a lot of it; Murph being prepped for surgery, Gordo's pre-GF party, so many Bevo addresses, etc.

I have managed to track down a copy of Outsiders. I am happy to burn a copy for those that want one.

I will only charge the cost of postage and package. The package will cost about $1.50. The disc will cost about $1.00.

Does anyone how much it will cost to send a DVD in a Rigid Envelope that is 228mm x 170mm.

If it's just like a large envelope, it would be $2.20.

So I would charge $5.00.

I'll confirm once I know how much the postage is

Legend, when you work it out I’ll 100% hit you up for one!! Or if it’s easier for you maybe you could upload it to Dropbox or similar?

Champion! Yeah is there any way you could possibly burn and upload to dropbox / discord or something similar?

Just confirmed that it's $2.20 for postage, so I will charge $5.00

To those asking if I can upload it, you are talking to a person who is not very tech savvy. Just being able to burn them is a big achievement for me ( which I have accomplished).

If you want a copy, send me a DM and I'll give you my bank details.
