100% agree with that sentiment. I reckon they had a good chat with Sier, and told him shape up or ship out. Degoey will never be a Pendlebury, but I’d point out to him that he could easily end up like the fat guy that left the dogs to go to Essendon ( I’ve forgotten his name!).
Cooney?

Yes, there was training today but no 2km time trial as I was hoping.
Different ball drills, in pretty challenging warm and very windy conditions.

Focus on disposal by foot under pressure.
Transition work and delivery inside 50 to a leading target
Little bit of contested work

I only attended for 90mins.

Some observations

Howe doing run throughs and laps and moving at a good pace and with no noticeable impediment. On track for Rd 1
Daicos also doing a little bit of run-through work to the side but also some kicking.
Both are making good progress

Lots of fresh faces - all our draftees I gather were in attendance. Hard day for controlling skills today accordingly.
Henry impressed me in that respect with his ball movement. Got outpointed by WHE in 1vs1 but was too tall for one of the rookies he competed with.
Macrae is generally a safe user
Reef tries to use both feet, which is encouraging but his right foot isn't as compact as I would hope.
Coulter only uses the left side and I think scrubs some kicks by trying to kick too low. Has some nice pace though
Mcmahon is athletic and tries to use both feet

Senior players absent - Moore, Elliott, DeGoey, Brothers Brown, Thomas, Mayne, Sidebottom, Sier, Maynard, Cox, Tohill, Keane, Greenwood
Most noticeable change in shape - Will Kelly has really continued to fill out. Encouraging to see

I'd have thought Jake Stringer was the better match for the size and type of player you're describing.
De Goey looks in good shape on Insta at present

Thanks Albert. That's nice work for a 90 minute stay. You must have been busy. Nice to hear Kelly is looking stronger. Was Maxy in attendance?

Thanks Apples. I didn't see Nick Maxwell. Only Max Lynch.

Cox would only be worried if we actually had someone who could take his spot. I don't think we do. Having said that, I reckon we will see a much more dangerous Cox next year.
That would appear to be a certainty seeing as he was playing this season with impaired eyesight.
Hope the big bloke lights it up - would love to see some keyboard warriors here squirm.

I must have missed something. I thought Cox had his eyes operated on about 2 years back. Why did he have a problem with his eyesight in 2020?

Thing about next year is that we need the likes of Sier, Daicos, Keane, T Brown, Wilson , Murphy, Noble & IQ to take the next step given the changes & injection of young kids. Still think Kelly, Bianco & Rantall a year or two away. Need a good run with injuries as well!

Essendon tried an “injection of young kids”, and it all went to shit...

Thanks for the report Albert. How did Rantell and Bianco look? Was Ruscoe up and about?
Rantall was the one I noticed most.
Did some work at the start with Quaynor where they worked on hitting a marking target inside 50.
Perhaps gave me the sense that IQ might play further afield this year.
Rantall's skills have improved and he's been working on his left foot. He's a solid size now and is obviously our best runner by some distance now.

Bianco has skill, but he looks so small and physically underdeveloped. Look at him relative to Caleb Poulter in the club's training photos.

Ruscoe was largely training on the far side of the oval from where I was sitting. He moves well.

Need to Remember they not played any footy or had Continued Training since the Pre-Season
