I noticed in one of the videos its hard to forget old habits even for Pendles and its just training
mark the ball, look forward no, look again no, look again no, check sideways no
aah stuff it go backwards 20 meters
Because Elliott and Moore have already proven themselves to be professional enough to come back in good shape. I don’t think Jordy has rocked up to a preseason and been in good physical condition yet. Hopefully this year he does.Jordy looks to be training hard. Why just target him? Elliott and Moore are not back. They will be just as behind as Jordy if that is what people are worried about. And Moore just re-signed on bigger bucks so he is just as much at fault as Jordy in this regard. No evidence he is training like Jordy is. He might come back overweight. Ditto Jamie.
Yep. Get fit wherever. After so many weeks in the hub living on top of each other, I wouldn't begrudge any of them their full allotted time away from the clubDidn’t realise he was training with Crock. If that’s the case, then he’s exactly where he should be, and I’m happy for him to do that until he’s due back officially in the new year.
I don't begrudge guys who want their full allocation of time away from the club, considering the year that was.Been putting a fair bit of work in over the off season. Something that is rare for him. Maybe after the hub he just wants some time away from the club. Also when you go back for 3 weeks in December and have 2 weeks off it’s not enough time to notice any improvements so I would rather he stick to the program and the personal training sessions he has been doing.
Jen is awesome , a treasure to us all .Magnificent reports and coverage Jen, just love your work, greatly appreciated.

+ 2 new rookie draftees who were wearing 33 and 34 respectively. Looked like Bianco has opted for #8. First time I noticed Wilson now wearing #12.Fact
After their warm up, they split off into 3 divisional groups that contained a mixture of players from different line groups.
I'm not sure of the technical term for it, but basically it was playing keeper off, or you have to either be the defender or the attacker in a circle. They then rotatated between groups around the ground.
They also did some transiton inside 50 work. Which clearly was a real weak spot in 2020, so the more they get this right the better. There was also kick and mark stuff going on.
After each drill they then had to do some sprints in pairs. At this point, I had gone to the AAMI park side. I needed to find some shade somewhere lol Didn't help given my knees are burned and my back. Haha. Sunburn always finds me...
Selwood was showing Reef and Finlay how to outbody their opponent in a contest/stoppage.
About midway through, they sent up for a mini match sim, split into blacks and the other team was in orange. About half way through this, Reef got a cramp, he was trying to stretch it out. But think they took him to finish up, that he had done enough. I noticed most of the draftees had finished up at that point.
During this match sim, Reef was in the centre square. Took a clearance. McMahon was the kead up key forward. Rantall was everywhere playing as that inside mid, he was quite impressive.
McCreery was inducing some speed into the forward line. Kelly was looking stronger and taking some good contested marks inside 50.
I think Caleb also had some work in the middle too.
Bianco he was a bit of everywhere. Think he played at half back, maybe also on the wing. I'm not used to him being in a new number so I forgot who he was at times.
McMahon had a few contested marks which all ended in goals late in the term.
I also noticed Adams has his brace off, his elbow is just wrapped in a bandage. But he did everything, he didn't seem hampered by his arm at all, so I think his coverage is just a precaution. He was in the mix of it all nonetheless.
I thought Wilson looked good, I have a good feeling we'll see him take the next step this season. Has put on the muscle, now its more about showing what he can do.
Cameron too, I thought looked pretty good in the action. Played forward and in the ruck.
Howe and Daicos mainly did running sessions, given Daics had that hip surgery, and we all know about Howe. But Josh participated in some drills. I don't think there is anything there to be concerned about.
After that was completed, a few did some goal kicking. McMahon, Kelly, Mihochek, some smalls as well. It was hard to totally see the numbers from where I was sitting on the hill. I really hate that barrier fence lol
All in all, a very solid session.
I came away with it impressed by certain players. I have a good feeling about this crop of draftees. Plus rantall.
There definitely will ge some hot competition for spots come round 1, that's for sure.
What I also did enjoy, was how vocal these draftees were. Reef started barking orders to the senior players to kick in specific directions to where he wants them to be.
He and and a few others kept asking questions from the staff about things they wanted more clarity on position wise. It was very encouraging to see things like this from 18 year olds.
One more thing: If we can play like this in games in 2021, the way they were playing in this mini match sim, that would be really nice. No long bombs, unless they knew Kelly or McMahon was up there to take a contested mark. There was short, kick and mark. Ball movement was fast. From the middle, it was no messing about, they kicked toward the forward line.
I''ve got some pictures and videos I'll put up soon.

Both Moore and Elliott have publicly stated that one of the key reasons for their chronic injuries was the training program. Elliott specifically said over-training was his issue. For the first time ever, both players got through a whole season without breaking down. But yeah, let's change the program that works and force them out there a week before the Xmas break. If he does not train properly he is more likely to get injured. People should not make excuses for him.
Yep. David King said that. No stand out traits just does everything right and works for the team.Hey Jen. I don’t post too often these days but just wanted to echo the widely held sentiments here. So good of you to take the time (along with others who do so) to inform us of insights re training and new recruits. I have a connection to young Bianco and would love to see him progress. But I think we all would like a bit of a pre Christmas morale boost after the year we’ve had and the turbulent trade period that knocked most of us around. You are indeed a treasure. Thanks!
PS I understand the point re Reef being ‘invisible’ I think Brad Johnsonor David King on Fox explained how he just doesthe simple team things really well as a player. I love this and also love the kids attitude straight up.PLAYERCARDSTARTBrad Johnson

Looks good. Spring in his step. Rucking, roving. Moving quite well. I think he is eager to put 2020 behind him. Thanks Jen for the report.
How did Grundy participate and move? I'm surprised to see him out there considering he played hampered most of last season.
Bianco was my recruit if 2019. I love him still. I love the fact he is a pies supporter, and I saw him training the year before he was drafted as he trained at the pies. Hoping to see a 2021 debut from him.Hey Jen. I don’t post too often these days but just wanted to echo the widely held sentiments here. Nothing wrong with train hard and play hard. There's something to be said for the old fashioned mentality of work hard, play hard, party hard. I think it builds the resilience to push through and play harder. Shortens careers considerably though.
Whatever else he is or isn't he was a wife (partner) basher.Wayne Carey is the perfect example of this. Pre all the controversy and sh*t that upset the snowflakes, the Duck was a machine on field and off.
Yep, I think people confuse partying with a lack of commitment to the team cause.Wayne Carey is the perfect example of this. Pre all the controversy and sh*t that upset the snowflakes, the Duck was a machine on field and off.
Not denying that. Just making the comparison. ApologiesWhatever else he is or isn't he was a wife (partner) basher.
My stepfather was one of those.
Lower than shark sh*t.
Excuse my ignorance, was he ever charged with that?Whatever else he is or isn't he was a wife (partner) basher.
My stepfather was one of those.

He glassed his girlfriend. He’s a ****ing scumbag.Excuse my ignorance, was he ever charged with that?

If not, probably shouldn't be posted.
Again, excuse my ignorance.
Enough said.He glassed his girlfriend. He’s a ******* scumbag.
