And for the record find me one dog fan that doesn't love the way Crossy has played whether he could kick or not?

1 Me
2 My brother
3 The guy who sits on the third row behind the goals

We should have traded Cross in 2009 and we would have gotten a top 20 pick for him

He is worthless regarding trade value now

Paul Roo's ?? Mark William's ??

An S on the end of a word does not automatically mean there should be an apostrophe before it.

You're welcome.

And I wouldn't want any of them. Wouldn't mind Bomber Thompson as mentor to Macca though.

Yeah well I think that says it all.

And with your opinion of Crossy what would we have gotten for a bloke that is apparently useless and can't kick??

Let's trade a bloke who even you admit would have gotten us a top 20 draft pick in 2009 when we are playing in pre Lims and he was a massive part of why we were!!

Some things that may help in the short term

- make Minson captain next year. He's carried the team n his shoulders and has a presence on the field, plays for the team
- keep Gia as a sub. Bag the guy all you want but he kept us in the game on Sat night and still has some use
- delist some of the dead wood that isn't getting up to scratch for games. Higgins is a sad case of what could have been great player who is injury prone.
- go for players from other clubs who have established themselves and are out of contract. We need an able bodied fast forward who can play position, read the play and score goals. Another Matty Robbins type player while the others get games under their belts.
- as far as the coach is concerned I don't know. It's a tough call sacking one at the this particular stage of the rebuild which could set us back even further
- a good solid rebounding defender would be a huge plus

I think we need to make Griffen captain in the hope we don't lose him to free agency at end of 2014 and he is clearly the best player we have now.

Even though I'm not a fan of Gia I think he has to play full games at the moment. He is our leaving goal scorer and at least when he does get it he looks like kicking a goal.

Questions have to be asked about Wood and Williams. How many breakdowns before enough is enough. Grant Howard Tutt Campbell all time to go

Gumbleton, Jesse white, Mitch Morton, Sam Reid, Mumford, Casboult should all be thought about

Sack the coach

I think JJ can be the rebounder we need he just needs time

Someone to help JJ, who is a few seasons ahead of him. I think Tom Young might come along well when he gets back from injury

The reason why I don't think of Griffen as a captain is that he's too quiet. Minson has that mongrel in him that's needed to fire others up when it's needed

But other than that we need good strong bodies who aren't afraid to push and shove

Yep 1 year on list into a 3 year contract for a 21 year old ruckman who mostly dominates at VFL level and lets replace him with either a soft fringe ruckman who has been in system 7 years who can't handle physical contact or one that shanks every second ball out on the full, time to go........

This thread made me laugh a lot.

talk about knee-jerk reaction.

If you were the president of Hawthorn or Geelong, pretty sure Clarkson or Thompson wouldn't have coached their respective teams to premierships.

Geez I'd hate to get on the wrong side of you in real life.

I think the thread has some merit just needs some meat.

If you add not only names but what they will bring that is different including pros and cons.

Just naming names with no substance does not stimulate discussion anymore than saying Macca should go without adequate replacements

Whether it's this year of the end of next year in my honest opinion we will be getting a new headcoach.

Below is a list of coaches that could be available at the end of this year or next year in no preferred order.

What are the thoughts and have I missed anyone

1)Paul Roo's

2)Mark Willam's

3)Leon Cameron

4)Neil Craig

5)John Worsfold

6)Scott West

How is he even an option, he WILL BE the head coach of GWS next year...

Does everyone agree that if we lose to GWS that Macca is in a lot of trouble?

Not saying he'll get the arse right away, but it might be the straw the breaks the camel's back for the board, and the scrutiny we'll get if we lose to GWS is going to be huge.
