Lol, it's like the OP thinks the posters on Bigfooty actually dictate trades or something.

If everyone is fit, is he a best 22 player?

On paper yes, on form and fitness no. We require more pace from our midfielders hence why Cunningham and Lloyd are in the side.

Who in the current team head to head should make way for him?

Of the extractors in our team I would say no one should make way for him because he is competing with Kennedy, Parker, McGlynn and Bird for 4 positions in the side. He'll get game time with 3 of those players now either out injured or carrying one. But he is just his 3rd week back from injury himself and just completed his first full game in the reserves. Another factor to consider is he hasn't completed a full pre season in his time with the Swans. We rate him, but we don't expect him to carry the team just yet.

Do you think he'll play finals? (I'm not aware of his injury if it's long term etc)

Depends on the injuries to Kennedy, McGlynn and Bird to be honest. Shouldn't if they are fit but is the next in for them. But we have others available for other positions as well.

It's not a high standard but if it was easy everyone would be getting those kind of numbers every week.

Isn't it NEAFL that Sydney reserves play in? If so there must be some strength to it (more than under 12's as posted elsewhere) as Gold coast reserves can't get a win.

Throw in Lenny and you've got yourself a deal...

be right back, I've got to put another bid in for some magic beans on ebay

if you want Lenny you'll have to keep Reid

He was pretty awesome as a sub in his first few games. Typical subs are a bit faster and more outside but he might be worth considering. Grand finals don't usually open up too much it's more one team gets on top in close and someone bobs up with goals. Mitchell could come in to the midfield and send Parker/McGlynn or Kennedy fwd as unexpected goal kickers. Or McVeigh to half back. For impact in a grand finals as sub I'd still probably trust Mitchell (presuming he's fit and has a run of NEAFL form) over Lloyd or Cunningham. I know the swans need one or both of those guys starting as running players ahead of the likes of Mitchell or O'Keefe. But I wonder if just because of speed if they are better subs?

Mitchell isn't going anywhere, he's a valued member of our team. According to his Dad he's loving his time at Sydney, and hasn't got any intention of leaving, will get his chance this week.

What? The bases of him being "unhappy" at the Swans is his seasons been riddled with injuries? Every time I've seen the ressies play this year Tom has ended up on crutches.

The record breaking possession game was the same round we beat Geelong by 110. No team would change that formula, get real.

But if you think he'd suit your club and are willing to pay massive overs then for sure have a crack. I mean what 3rd year player wouldn't want to leave a current top tier team where he has job security & earning good money to play with his mates to go and move to a team like Carlton, where god knows what his future will hold.

Quite a few young mids coming through up there!

Dees will be very interested in a mid like Mitchell - and we can afford to accommodate his salary.

One of our early picks will give Sydney a crack at a quality KPP, and we would probably ask for Malceski to be thrown in as well.

Yeah but Mitchell would have to be interested in going to you. He had no involvement with Roos and we hold his contract for a further two years so why would we trade a player who is still contracted, have his father working at the club (a fact people keep forgetting) and he hasn't shown any interest in leaving other than statements by people who think he is being ignored rather than injuried.

As for Malceski he is a Free Agent who hasn't even expressed interest in Melbourne, nor has there been interest shown by Melbourne.

You want us to throw Malceski (a free agent) into a trade deal? Interesting concept.

Yes, because when they lose Frawley they get a very excessive compensation pick. If they pick up a free agent themselves, they lose their handout.

1) Mitchell lived with Paul Roos and family when he moved up to Sydney. Roos was only doing the academy stuff at the time, but he has had more than enough involvement with Roos. You guys would be tempted to ditch one of your many young mids for a high pick - and Mitchell was signed to a shamefully large contract, which only a side like Melbourne could accommodate.

2) Dont know where you get your info from, but you are wrong on both counts regarding Malceksi. Melbourne are very, very interested in an experienced, quality half back who can dispose of the ball well - specifically, MFC is keen on Malceski. Melbourne wouldn't want to take him as a free agent, as he's 30 years old and would dilute our compensation pick for Frawley. Wrap him up in a trade however.. and both teams win. **Bare in mind Malceski could nominate for the PSD and get to Melbourne for his final pay check - so the Swans would be best served to deal with Melbourne if possible.

I think that's a reflection of Gold Coast's poor depth rather than anything else. Their list does fall away a fair bit beyond their best 22.

Yeah, Josh Kennedy had good job security in the reserves as well. Wonder why he left...

Would it be a smart bet to think that the Swans would actually trade him out considering they have committed 500k this year and next to a player that they haven't been able to fit in the side.

Swan Salary cap is obviously bursting and they would want to be able to keep some of their senior players who have earned payrises this year.

If the Swans were to trade Mitchell out, it would be on the Swans terms. Whoever takes him will need to cover the full 500k of the contract for Mitchell along with offer something in return...

Therefore he would only go to the highest bidder. All bids can't be in, tradeweek hasn't started.

That and a few million dollars. Maybe even some ambassadorial money like Kieren Jack?

Is Tom a chance to come in for the injured Josh Kennedy (if he misses this week)?
