From the Eagles in no particular order:

Daniel Kerr: Always hard at the ball, takes on opponents double his size, and performs the one percenters.

Brett Jones: An underrated courageous defender, keeps his eyes on the ball and not afraid to back up straight into a huge pack.

Micheal Braun:
Takes an absolute physical beating every game, stands right back up every time, does what ever is necessary to get the ball for his team.

Beau Waters: Probably our toughest nut with Chick delisted. Always puts his body on the line to get the hard ball or to stop an opponent from getting a ball. A health insurance nightmare.

Darren Glass: Courageous at the last line of defence. Takes on the big forwards each week and wins more often than not. Not afraid to throw his body about to save a goal.

Honourable Mention: Hunter, Staker, Priddis, Wirrpanda, Lynch

Nope, but he did give away a 150m (3x50m) penalty to Grover which resulted in a Freo goal, after he lost control from the torment. I have never seen Grover bitched by any player in the competition, despite playing on the big fellahs.

Gehrig kicked 8 on him at the TD last year.

Tough ask for the Blues
Got quite a few guys that put their head over the ball. Got no-one who scares the opposition, our toughest players probably aren't our most talented:

Wiggins - not a great talent but has kamikaze courage which is why he is still on the list.
Bentick - Fantastic endeavour, great tackler, more like a rugby league player than a footballer. Toughness compensates for his lack of pace
Carazzo - Very hard at it and again has made the most of what he has got.
Fisher - Hasn't got the body size of most marking forwards, but always plays in front, has eyes on the ball and gets crunched by the pack as facial fractures and shoulder injuries attest.
Fev - only guy we've got who can hand out a bump that will hurt, only guy that looks to hurt opponents when the opportunity presents. But plays in front and runs straight at the ball. Has copped some heavy knocks and got up

Kozi - pity his body can't handle it but he has got some serious guts
Riewoldt - same as kozi, just not quite as injury prone
Bakes
Lenny Hayes
Lukey Ball - tough as nails..
Goose - had to put him on the list even if it meant having 6

We make your lot look like little girls when we play each other.

how about the game where lovett-murray singlehandedly showed the football world just how 'tough' the carr sisters are?

also funny how the majority of your supposedly 'tough' players are all imports as well...

freo tough - pfft.

Not all 8 were on Grover.

We're talking about toughness anyhow.

Well you quoted a post directed at the Eagles, so I don't know why you're getting upset.

Either way, stupidly punching someone doesn't make you tough in NLM's case. However, Josh Carr getting king-hit by J.Brown, then getting up to play a cracker is tough.

he never said it made lovett-murray tough, he said it made carr look like a women seeings he got flattened by one punch.... i havent seen the carr brothers try to push him around since...

1. Rooke - Tough, bordering on just plain mad. No regard for own safety
2. Bartel - Despite very close attention, plays the ball and relentless in his attack. Loves it hard and when it's wet.
3. Selwood - Only 18 but throws himself in time after time. Seen many times attack it head first. Silly....maybe, tough....definitely!
4. Mooney - Loves the tough stuff. Needs a hard contest just to get into the game.
5. Harley - Constantly backing back into packs and often marking. This is one of the toughest things anyone can do on a football field.

P.S. Anyone who thinks being in lots of fights = tough is piss weak themselves. The snipers are almost always skirting packs and very ready to receive.

Are you suggesting that either Josh OR Matt Carr are intimidated by a cheap shot Nathan Lovett-Murray??? Ridiculous.

Hunter? Matthew Lloyd doesn't seem to think he's tough, then again since Hunter's normally head first into the fence...

there are heaps of hard tough players at every club.but when you quote wirra as being tough i cringe,i think what puts players at the very top of the tough list is yes the usual head over the ball, but also the ability to shine after taking a hit, being able to dish out a hit, enjoying dishing out a hit,but most of all not going to ground i.e avoiding contact when its obvious the opposition is hunting you.hird would be right up in the courage stakes but missing in the nasty stakes. carr is a sniper.the two standouts are brown [lions] and waters.

Toughest 5 blokes from my team in no particular order :-
Matthew Lloyd
Nathan Lovett-Murray

idiot..!

Barry Hall loves a cry to
Just as a matter of interest when did Big Bad Barry have a cry as i must have missed it ?Surely it must have been a one of because it would not compare to the amount of times the serial sook has broken down.Maybe Riewoldt could have cosmetic surgery and have his tear ducts removed as to not cause himself any further embarrassment !!!!!!! ;)

hunter didnt line lloyd up. if you see it again hunter ran into lloyd face on not side on.he pushed his hands and wrists out in front of him ,i dont know if hunters fist collected him or he sconed mimself when he hit the ground.if he was genuinely tough he would have approached the contest side on with a view to a good hip and shoulder.mind you i didnt mind the end result.but definitely not tough. in fact a tad on the wimpy side.handy for the argy bargy but if you watch him in the head on collisions he has a large degree of self preservation.
