It's not even about best 22, we just need some depth and competition for spots. Having somebody playing for his AFL life behind JT might make him put some extra effort in. Our forward depth is atrocious, like, beyond a joke. It was bad with Stevo and Atu, now it's just unspeakable

There was a rumour that he was a piece of shit in the hub, thought he should have been playing and was openly hoping for some players to have bad games, so they could be dropped, so he could play. No clue if it's true, only heard it once off a poster on here. Obviously if it's true, nobody will touch him.

I think he might be talking about Menegola, who was delisted by Freo in 2014 and then drafted by Geelong in 2015. He certainly wasn’t picked as a DFA, and he wasn’t AA the year after they got him either. That took 5 years of development.
Probably the best example of a DFA coming good is Lyons at Brisbane, but tbh it’s baffling why GC ever delisted him in the first place. He was never a bad player.

Agree Dave. I’m not really even interested in bringing in DFAs for depth. I’d prefer to build from within. It’s time to see if some of this young talent already on our list can go/step up.

I agree generally, but we've lost a lot of depth/experience already this off season, I wouldn't be surprised if there are one or two DFAs or mature draft picks late on, on one year deal to tide us over depth wise while we focus on building the youth brigade further

He was out of the system for a year after he was delisted by Freo, so not sure he would have even qualified for DFA under that criteria.
