Lloyd meek has a 600k a year offer in front of him from GWS. Clearly they’ve lost faith in Briggs, Preuss & Flynn. At least one likely to be shaken loose.

Might be an idea to bolster our ruck stocks
I’ve always liked Flynn, he has great hands and is a good second ruck just very injury prone.

I wonder if he has the mobility to play as a Full Back.

Dunkley was meaning the decision to leave family was a hard one, mind you he didn't say it would be hard to leave club and mates. Don't care myself players come and go it's his life, I'll still be here, coaching was part of it, it was diabolical this year, did my head in.

The only saving grace is if that means they cut two $300-350k rucks. Given Pruess is onto his third club that means Briggs and Flynn would both be gettable.

Flynn is a NSW boy and has been part of their academy since he was a kid so it might be hard to pry him loose. Shocking injury history too

It’s no wonder that Meek a Ballarat boy wasn’t even suggested as an option for us.

Flynn is the pick of the bunch regardless of third clubs. Happy to pay a third round pick for him, injury history says no more than that.

I think this trade gets done with minimal fuss.

Lions lose 2022 1st, 2023 1st.
Lions gain: Dunks, 600-800 points (2 picks in the 40’s)

Dogs lose: Dunks, 2 picks in the 40’s
Dogs gain: 2022 1st, 2023 1st

There is no need to over complicate it further than that.

We could then flip the lions picks for a top 10 this year if we felt the need or trade on for other assets.

In all likelyhood, the departure of players like JJ, Hunter, et al. will net us a little bit of currency to put the points on the table.
If that is the case what would you look to do in terms of picks we will have and do you go to draft and get ? What other players would you try bring in?

One of 11/15 should be one of the KPD then for me i'd be looking at some outside run with the other or a genuine small forward

if he is leaving for the off field problems such as players not been professional what does this say about Bont? Dale? Jack M? CD and all the players that were prepared to sign on.

There maybe an element of the above but there is a Greek saying that I think is apt

The Apple does not fall far from the tree

I think that has played a bigger part than he been so professional and other players not.

Agreed this has Daddy written all over it.

Read this and then the picture becomes clearer...

You watch the finals series highlights last year and Dunks is celebrating like crazy with teammates, giving his all etc... but now the group is not professional enough. Wednesday night he'll give some boiler plate speech on family, lifestyle but he has taken the extra year + $750k pure and simple, just say that.

As per my contact at the club, Sam Power and co flying out to GC today to meet with the Suns and one or two player managers.

Make of that what you will.

Perhaps this point is being lost in attempts to defend Dunkley. Whilst I agree that some of the comments about his character have been unkind and over the top, we need to consider how Dunkley's actions reflect upon and subtly vilify other players in the team.

It's difficult to know what Dunkley really feels about the professionalism of Bulldogs players, and the club as a whole. I don't recall specific statements made by him - more Chinese whispers, rumours, inferences and at least one comment made on this forum by an apparent family member two years ago. Nonetheless, it is all too obvious that he was not happy at the Whitten Oval, and there is general consensus that this is at least partly due to the way the club conducts itself.

Dunkley would be well aware that the events of two years ago, and his routine hedging and non-commitment since, does not reflect kindly on the club, nor upon the individual players who have committed to it. He does have the power to offer a few crumbs to the media - to acknowledge some affection for the club that drafted and developed him, and made him a premiership player at the age of nineteen. He could at least say something which removes the inferred generalisation, which tarnishes everyone else in the team, that the Western Bulldogs does not meet his high professional standard. He has not offered anything like this - yet, and I totally get why many supporters are calling him out for being individualistic and selfish. What we are getting from Dunkley is an android with clinical messaging, mouthing words that are scripted to be as vague as possible, without even so much as a small concession to his teammates. Adam Treloar excepted.

At this moment in time, and until Dunkley actually says something selfless to dispel the generalisation, I am more concerned about the tarnished reputations of everyone else at the club than I am with the characterisations of Dunkley himself.

Mark Stevens saying Stef Martin will play on again
Imagine the melts if we passed up the opportunity to add Flynn in order to sign Stef for another year!

Happy enough for Martin to stay on with the VFL team as part of a transition to coaching, but this is absolutely nuts otherwise. He looked beyond cooked at AFL level this year.

Well Bevo’s favourite second ruck has asked to be traded to Brisbane so he could definitely be up for a few games.
Again we've debunked this Dunkley "2nd Ruck" myth he will play predominately a coaching role and the odd game if needed

Flynn is the one that has shown the most when thrown forward, he's the only one of the three that I'd look at.
