It would be a stroke of good fortune if the saints can take Cordy, he’s given everything he can but he has so little to work with physically. Hopefully if Cordy goes they do the sensible thing and re sign Schache, which is staggering for me that he hasn’t been so far.

We lose Cordy then what? Keath, Jones, Duryea are all over 30. Two of those have been injured a fair bit

Why? Neither are going to make it and are both cloggers so why get rid of the one who’s shown more at the level then the one who had the potential when younger

Interesting to see if he has maintained his condition. Jones has played a decent level of footy this year, and by all reports kept himself in tip-top condition. AMT had injury issues, which exacerbated fitness issues. Has he been playing anywhere? Don't want another Allen Jakovich scenario.
Does AMT live in another state? Would he want to come back to Melbourne, especially to a club so close (geographically) to Essendon? He was a good player but I think we can do better.

Schache has never had anywhere near the run Cordy’s had, one bad game and he’s out. I think Schache’s shown far more at afl level than Cordy, in 2019 when Schache did get a run of games he kicked 24 goals in 14 games.

You want to keep persisting with Cordy?

There's a reason we have the Majak Daw Medal on this board. It's for the hack forward that pulls one out against our wafer thin KPDs.

Time for us to shake hands and move on.

Because Cordy although he’s not good never has games where he is genuinely shocking. He played in a premiership for a reason. Schache has had his chances and has show he isn’t up to it hence Cordy is getting other offers and Schache isn’t

Then do if it there were replacements.

Our backline is poor and the "better" players are old and now have injury histories.

If Jones is all we do it's a fail especially if we lose depth from an area that is very poor already.

Not sure how people don't see that

Either media contracts reported are a load of s**t, or FA has become a lot more strict in the hand out of picks.

Band 3 for contracts reported at 650k/py over 4/5 years for 27 year olds.

I like it personally, clubs shouldn’t be receiving a handout for losing average players who are being massively overpaid by s**t clubs
I think the formula was always proportional to salary cap (so $650k not as much as it was 4-5 years ago) but even still it feels like there has been a change.

The Cats being given pick #19 for Motlop to allow them to trade it to bring Ablett back continues to be laughable.

The James Frawley compensation, manipulated by all parties involved to be a fake priority pick, was the worst of the lot. Espeically as Buddy got Hawks a significantly worse pick for the most generous contract in history.

If both Cordy and Schache leave it would probably be a good thing. Both depth players at best although I rate Cordy higher

I know this is Brisbane's problem to solve but how on earth are they going to come close to satisfying us in a deal for Dunkley? The only conceivable way is via a player trade now (Lohmanm, Payne, someone else?).
A decent player needs to come back our way.

It was the only way it was ever going to work.

We are already a soft team and without Cordy we get worse while other teams continue to get bigger and stronger. Cordys big hit on that swans player was the only time someone showed some aggression all year. If 5% of that can rub off on other players then that alone is better than what TOB or Schache brings.

I'd like to see Khamis getting time as the 3rd key defender but if he doesn't work out I'd rather Cordy next up than TOB.

Was there any reason why Dunkley wasn’t convinced to sign a 3 year deal 2 years ago to take him to Free Agency?

I’m well past questioning him and why he wants to go, just seems an oversight by his management from an outsiders view.

Like he would’ve got the same deal, if not more at the end of 2023 and just walked to wherever he liked.
