I see the Hype train Lobb kicked the same amount of goals as Ballantyne this season...

Our second coming of JJK for some here...

Lobb is surplus to need. Essentially kicked as many goals as Josh Hill this season and some here a bagging Hill for a down year, hypocrites much?

And no he wouldn't kick more for us because we have a better midfield, just no.

I'm not one who's been bagging Hill but I wouldn't have thought there's much point in comparing the two of them. Kind of like comparing Hogan to Cripps. They're very different players who'd be filling very different positions.

Good to see you took my point on board

Any other aging small forwards you'd like to compare a 24yo ruck/forward to while you're at it?

Martin can do bullet passes 50 metres over the defence. I wouldn't blush.
He also threatened to stab a woman in the eye with a chopstick.

Just saying...

Was it a bullet pass over 50 metres with the chopstick though?

Sorry God.

Any particular player you believe Lobb would replace or displace, is it JJK, Lycett or NN?
If we are being positional/physiologically centric?

I simply compare him as a FORWARD which is where he predominantly plays his football.

Ballantyne is purely an example as a forward who like Hill has been maligned for having a rubbish season yet he has kicked the same number of goals as the great white hope (who will cost us big)...

I do not want Ballantyne but at least he would be cheap, Lobb is someone who would cost a packet and on current evidence, unjustifiably.

Did you not watch the last Eagles v GWs game?? Did you not see his running with the flight of the ball mark of the year contender?

Also the GWS v Hawks game rd 6. The contested marking 10x plus 4 goals as well in only his 18 th game of AFL .

Lobb has played a lot as a utility, not as a dedicated forward - they already have Cameron and Patton. His goal tally is misleading.

Having said that, whilst I rate him, I think he's overvalued at the moment.

He'd certainly get a game in our team though. I think he'd play in support of Nic.

Obvious bad egg. Third rounder should get it done.:straining:

Assuming we pick up Lobb this year what exactly happens in 2018 when NicNat, Lycett and Lobb are all (presumably) fit and available?

If we had a choice between Hogan and Lobb for me its a no brainer to go with Hogan, our forward line won't miss a beat when Kennedy retires. I'll caveat that comment by saying I haven't seen much of Lobb but based on the word on the street he is a R/F while neither being a pure R or F.

The land of the giants comes back into effect, yuck!

Lycett doesn't get a game. Or Lobb plays forward allowing Darling to be a third tall.

Kennedy, Lobb, Lycett and NicNat in the same team makes us a little too top heavy imo especially with Darling then running around in the forward line too.

Yeah and that's why I'm not sure selling the farm to get Lobb is a great idea if our ruck deficiency is only temporary. Like a few have said before a short term fix like (for arguments sake) Minson and getting a young developing ruck from the WAFL/VFL might be a better option. Personally I'd still go hard at Hogan, he is a pure forward that would be the perfect replacement for Kennedy.

Whats wrong with Lobb at CHF,Nic rucking and horses for courses with Lycett as a second ruck thats genuine big man depth.
Both Hogan and Lobb will be available in 2018 and i would love both in the same team but i doubt whether West Coast or Freo could land both at the same time.

Based on landing one that would have to be Hogan to play CHF until Kennedy at FF retires(turns 31 in the 2018 season)

Think the answer is obvious; JK at full forward, Lobb at CHF, Darling on the flank. Lobb eventually replaces JK.
