Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

West Coast's second-round pick has already slid from 19 to 23 because of free agent compensation. After Gold Coast academy bids it could be at 26. Could this force them to split pick No.1 to get more high-end talent? #AFL

..... Yeah nah
i cannot believe he studies 3-years to get his degree and he gets paid 6 figures for his journalism

We should be politely demanding the AFL give us access to Collard after their poor management has resulted in our 2nd pick blowing out to nearly 30 in a 3 win season, pathetic that a team that didn't even come last can get a mountain of handouts at the detriment of the worse performed team.

And there's no reason they couldn't do it. They exposed themselves for the bush league they are just flat-out creating picks for North, so why aren't we compensated?

And it all comes down to $. North are a basket-case on and off the field so they get a new coach and draft picks and bailed out. Where is the penalty of not managing your business well? They drafted and managed their list poorly, they recruited their coaches poorly, they should feel the pinch from their poor decisions. Instead they get gifted picks and get carried by the AFL and our money.

This is now the most compromised draft in memory. The AFL have made an absolute mess of it with the free picks to North and free agency compo (for all teams) and we are going to suffer for it at a time when we need to be recruiting young talent.

The fact that they said to North you MAY get 2 end of R1 picks in 2024 and they've already gone ahead and acted like they have already got them makes me want to vomit.

Oh yeah I'm melting alright. Flipping tables all over the office!

The compromised nature of the draft is now ridiculous. I am so over the AFL and their blatant bias and manipulation and non-transparency. I don't really worry too much about it all generally but it is really starting to piss me off.

Missed GC turning pick 4 into a bazillion later picks (worth more points) plus 2 additional future 1sts.

This is the evidence to the league that the points system is broken.

It was reported the other day somewhere that we have been consistently asking for this to no avail.

Tradies raised Dylan's theory the other day too, that the AFL may have over compensated North so that they could trade up to Reid at a high cost, giving them Reid and us a de facto priority pick.

But it doesn't look like the Shinbeggars wants to play that game, they want their cake and to eat it too. So the AFL's hilarious attempt at yet another massaged outcome looks like it will fail.

They've absolutely ****ed us by using this year's CBA and blowing out our picks to comp Norf and keep the others happy. In turn we should say **** em, take Reid and then ask for whatever we can get next year.

We've played by the rules and been ****ed over, this is a mess of their own making and the AFL doesn't have a leg to stand on - pony up those charity picks.

Given the shallow pool of talent and the truckload of 1st round compos being handed out, I'm inclined towards the club just bundling every pick beyond R1 and moving up the order as much as possible. Ex-Pick 19 is a joke now, and no longer the trump card for sliders that it used to be. Even consider trading them to get more picks next year.

Also, that offer for pick 1 from the Roos is a joke. May their club fold so hard they're forever referred to as the 'Tin Origamis'.

Based on the news the other day that WCE and Essendon haven't tied their contracts to CBA

Who should we be targeting next year

We have caps and picks

Sam Taylor from GWS and Chad Warner would be my liking

Midfield of Kelly, Ried, Hewett, Ginbey and Warner 🤩🤩🤩

Barrass and Taylor KB and OA up forward

2025 could be looking really secy

I'd eat my left testicle if Chad Warner joins us next year.

North will make another offer listening to Rawlings/Twomey. Rawlings said there still looking to "manoeuvre" up to 1 and Twomey reckons they'll still have a proper crack.

At the same time, Rawlings sounds very content with there draft hand so i imagine there next offer will fall well short of our asking price once again.

How good is our ability to bottom out during the most compromised drafts? Elite areas.

Given the AFL could have handed Norf their pleb picks after their early second rounder but instead chose to link them to the end of first round, I think we're within rights to enquire about access to Collard. Supposedly we asked some time ago but the silence since suggests it was knocked back.

AFL knocked back access to Sanders for North, makes me think they aren't interested in giving access to Collard for us.

In hindsight i think i'd have preferred the AFL to just give north access to match a bid for Sanders and none of the extra picks.

Any pick swap involving GC would have to see them gaining points, even if it's just a small gain. If not, the quid pro quo is too obvious and we would open ourselves up to an investigation.

Just got my membership renewal. Duggan is front and centre in the photo in the email so unless it is late breaking news it would seem the club is not expecting him to leave
