I think that was just referring to the handful of late first rounders they offered unless I missed something? Think there are still discussions unfortunately…

If that was their one throw at the stumps I think it is fair to say John Howard is a better cricketer than Brady Rawlings (batting ability unknown).

Hit the draft with Ried (1) , ZZ (20/21), Collard (28) and role player at 36*

I wonder if we could trace 43 and 57 for F2 (lowish) or F3 (high)

Any of those boys (preferably Cole) and our F3 for pick 21 and 25 I’d do. We have a lot of players who can play HBF.

I'd only do it if we had a plan for those picks though. Duggan's on-field leadership is worth more than two years in the WAFL for pick 21. If that pick were to be used in a swap to get us higher, pull the trigger. Ideally, we'd do such a deal as 13 for Duggan and something rather than having to make that second trade ourselves.

We should be politely demanding the AFL give us access to Collard after their poor management has resulted in our 2nd pick blowing out to nearly 30 in a 3 win season, pathetic that a team that didn't even come last can get a mountain of handouts at the detriment of the worse performed team.

To be fair we knew the system going into this. All we needed to do was be proactive and do a pick swap early on with a Collingwood / Brisbane to avoid all the compensation bs pushing pick 19 back to 26+.

It's on our people for not doing that. All it would have taken was to get involved with the GC pick swaps and grab what was originally pick 17.

Those picks in the teens were going at a premium though

Our R2 and ports R2 - originally 19 and 33 weren’t going to be better than what other clubs were putting up

Looking at the draft order, the one positive is that our pick 37 will turn into 31 and 44 into 36 based on GC/Dogs/Hawks picks that will be eaten up on matching. Subject to them not shifting picks around further. Though will then in reality be 36 and pick 41 given the 5 kdis who will be taken with those matches.

A month ago our R2 was pick 19 and the first pick on night 2

It’s now pick 23 and no longer the first pick on night 2

Even worse is Fremantle look good to get 19 from Collingwood for Schultz and 21 from St Kilda for Henry which are both before our pick.

Using those picks they could take both Collard and Zakostelsky

What was a prime pick has been devalued massively

was this confirmed?
