I am 100% certain if we let Moore go, particularly if it's because we are chasing other talent, we will 100% regret it.
Bloke is a LeBron James type physically, he shouldn't be that big and that quick and that athletic, but he is. Can play forward, ruck and down back and is 22 and the son of a Collingwood great.
We WILL regret this I hope you all are fully aware of that.
12-24 months ago I would've agreed with you.
But now? The guys is 4 years into his career. We have definitely seen glimpses, more in the back half than up front, but even when healthy he doesnt consistently put it together, and then there are the injuries, and how often they occur mid game.
I would love him to stay. I would love him and the club to agree to a 500k contract for a few years. But if he thinks he is worth more than that, which I am sure he does, then I wouldn't support giving it to him garaunteed. If he wants to gamble, drop the base down (say 400) but give him targets to reach up to 700k/yr if he meets certain requirements (games played being the main one).
If another clubs wants to offer him that 700k garaunteed - then let him walk in a trade.
