I do think he’s excess to our needs atm.
I would be okay to lose Fas, if it helped with getting Kelly or Quaynor.

Well he’s a UFA. So I wouldn’t surprised if we receive to close to no compensation.

The best deal you could see him getting is a 3 year deal for a million.

To a WC about to possibly lose Lecras (unless I missed a contract extension) that seems about right. IMO, it might actually be of benefit to us for him to be traded because I don’t think that contract gets us anything before the 3rd round.

Looking impartially 3 and 4 year deals respectively for Wells and Mayne resulted in babd 3 compensation so at very best I’m tipping end of rd 2 which is 37 minimum post Lynch walking.

He was on SEN this morning.

He said it was from a source up north, however he also said that he made the assumption that it would have been Hodge that approached him.

In other words, it's bullshit.

It would also be an absolute PR disaster - it's ok for a bloke who was basically at the end of his career and out of contract, but Cyril had just signed a new deal and at 29 is arguably still at the peak of his powers if he can get over his injury issues.

They can't set a precedent with blokes "retiring" mid-contract and then throwing their hat in at another club as it's just not a good look.

Isn't that what Mal Michael did?

Didn't Mal Michael do it?

Moore isn’t worth that imo. Plus they have Blakey coming in who will get bidded on early.

I'd imagine they'd also have someone else's 1st round pick if Hannebery was to go as rumoured.

Madness to give up a first for Hannerbery

May well be the case but that's what they'd be expecting. He's a 3x AA, coaches player of the year, only 27, and 1/2 way through a long contract. Someone would pay that in the hope this year has been an aberration due to injury rather than a portent of things to come.

out of interest since Beams has only been at the lions for 4 years is he a restricted free agent or unrestricted ? not that I want him btw just interested

I thought we traded him for Molloy - might have been a pick thrown in somewhere too?

Edit: Ahh wait you meant Essendon - I'd guess the AFL would be a little bit more reticent about players retiring to edit a contract and then going elsewhere given how they are both focused on control and concerned about their image as a governing body.

We need to start worrying about a KPD for 2019, we must get a ready made decent/durable defender in this trade period, do we go the best available in the state leagues or look to other clubs?

TBH i think we need 2, with Dunn done for most of 2019 - Shazza as well and Reid as unreliable as ever.

honestly I think as a stop gap whilst we try get other KPD I would like at someone like Michael Johnson from freo

34 in 3 months, coming off missing half the season and from what i hear very much enjoys a little wizz fizz on the weekends.

Has to be better options out there than him.

Good Australian gear I presume?
