Why would we trade Lennon, our 2013 first pick(12) for another clubs 2015 first pick, after putting 2 years development into him to get Yarran, when isn't even in Carlton's best 22. What am I missing?

the problem is that the pies dont over pay. They just have dodgy deals with players GF's, appearances on footy shows and tripple m... surely they must have salery cap issues

Adams $500
Now Treloar $700
Greenwood $500
Swanny $300 or so
White and varcoe must have been offered something decent to come over

Agree. Maybe that is why the Pies deal with Treloar is up in the air. No matter what Gubby wants his bosses will want extra value. And other clubs will want the Pies held to account. And I read $800k was their offer.

Any which way, I don't see Collingwood having a premiership team out of their trades. And they are maxing their credit card early. It looks like people accustomed to success that get angry when it goes away, so they try to buy their way back. Works out a bit, but if there is no solid base then it usually falls apart - Hello Carlton

underlying everything we do I see a focus on building a long term solid basis for success. If we keep doing what we have been our squad will be packed full of good first round picks, a few good later picks, nice trades/FA's, and hopefully a couple of A grade doozies. Solid finances, good membership base and a well run club.

We got Miles in the rookie draft, and he threw himself in our lap. He came to US, not the reverse. Blair hasn't done anything since the end of 2012.

Rookie draft*, I stand corrected. But certainly not pure luck. They still had to pick him, and at pick 27 why didn't any other club take him on? The point I was making though is that Blair and Dan have done a good job for us in the past, and I back them to do the same again.

With all the big signings and players recommitting to their clubs, I feel best case scenario is we get Yarran and Townsend whilst keeping pick 12 and Lennon. Worst case would be Lennon walks to Carlton in the PSD which pisses of Richmond who refuse to deal an earlier pick for Yarran. That leaves us with pick 12 and Townsend. Almost need to cut losses on this year and focus on wines, prestia, JOM, etc. next year with the bonus being we won't have to compete with Geelong or Collingwood at the trade table as the won't have the leverage of future picks
