Why didn't we just trade them the two first rounders instead of gambling? If 31 + 30 = 19 < Yarren...... Why didn't we just ask them regarding the 31 and 30? Hi Carltoon....Does 31 + 30 = Yarren? Yes/No. Move on. Seems a really strange decision.

Hope Carlton drags it out and it gets to 1.45 on Thursday and they realise nobody else wants Yarran. Dan gets on the phone to SOS and says about that pick 19 we were offering, suck a fat one flog boy, the offer is now pick 52 or you're stuck with a player that you don't want and who doesn't want to be there. Would be the ultimate feck you Carlolololton moment.

Excerpts from the Herald Sun article re Yarran -

  • A Carlton official told the Herald Sun on Tuesday night: “Richmond have still got pick 12 and that’s what we want”.
  • Yarran is growing increasingly frustrated by Carlton’s stubbornness and has not ruled out sitting out season 2016.
“It’s a possible option,” a source close to the standoff said.
  • Yarran, 24, is contracted for next season and has no intention of wearing the navy blue jumper again.
He has not been contacted by any Carlton official throughout the trade period, which expires at 2pm on Thursday.
  • A rival club boss on Tuesday night said Carlton, under new list and recruiting boss Stephen Silvagni, had drawn level with Essendon as footy’s most difficult negotiators.
  • It emerged Carlton would also have rejected pick 17, which the Tigers attempted to secure from Brisbane in a trade involving defender David Astbury.

I really can't believe that these managers haven't discussed what would be acceptable. This just seems like a face saving posture to me.

What a joke of a club. Choke on another spoon you incompetent campaigners.

Doesn't matter. It cost 2 second rounders which is still too much.

Our traders have NFI officially IMO and are an utter embarrassment to our fans and the league itself IMO

I dont understand they either have no player next year and get nothing for him after next year or they take pick 19 now doesnt make any sense the guy doesnt want to be there

Yup. There've been talks FA compensation is on the way out next year, utterly stupid for them to keep him. Would be a waste of a list spot, why not take 19 and develop a good kid? Something's cooking at Carlton, and it smells like shit. Now my most hated club, easily.

I didn't even dislike them that much beforehand, even cheered for them when they beat Port. But now I can see why that club gets such a bad name. Terrible, terrible culture. Could not care less how many flags they've won, because the way they're going, they won't win another one for a long, long time.

IMO Yarran will turn it on next year... If we have to give 12 so be it... 19 will still nab us a great player.
So we give up not only pick 12 this year but potentially pick 19 next year(if things go belly up with injuries) in a deeper draft so we can get an extra pick in a weaker draft this year, but the cost of our Target(Yarran) was still pick 12 this year.

No, they'll be stuck paying a player to sit in the grandstand at Richmond games learning the gameplan and the playing styles of his soon to be new teammates.

Post that on the D&T thread.

**** Carlton.

Like wise i was finding it hard to pick between the druggos and carltoons as my most hated club but its an obvious choice now

And they wonder why everyone is leaving.... And they cant put any trades through themselves obviously gws are having a shit time dealing with them aswell
From what I've read it seems the whole Treloar to Collingwood is being held up because GWS are waiting on pick 28 from Carlton.

I'll lose my mind if I read another post about is coming in over the top with a better offer for Treloar.
We already did that, Treloar wants to play for the pie$$$$$.
Doesn't matter what we offer GWS it's what we offer Treloar.
Too much, won't happen, move on.
Hope this deal means we can go after Treloar.:D

From AFL website - Nick Bowen

"Late first-rounder not enough to interest Carlton"

Seriously? Pick #19 is not a late first rounder. It is the first pick of the second round it is an 18 team competition ffs how can these people not even understand basic mathematics?

The longer this drags, the more Richmond come across as amateurs.

From day one we have said we won't be moving Yarran on unless we receive a first round pick in return.

Their inability to secure one is not our issue nor does it mean we should back down on our demands. Richmond want us to give up a contracted player - we'll do so on our terms and our terms only.
Either satisfy our demands, or we'll either keep him for another year or trade him elsewhere to a club who can give us what we want.
Richmond have tried to trade into that first round and thus far the best they have been able to do is secure pick 19, which is not a first round pick. To come to us with that is insulting, particularly seeing as though they know this will almost certainly be pushed further back due to early academy selections.
Richmond can seriously go and get stuffed. We are under no obligation to sell and have set the price required for us to do so. Either meet that price or **** off and go waste someone else's time.
Well said Jeremias. Spot on.

We can't back down on our asking price because of their failure to secure a first round pick.

Also, if we do give in, well what's going to happen in future trades? "Carlton will eventually give in, they did with Yarran"

Can't let that happen, absolutely must stick to our guns on this one.
Not having a go at you, having a go at the Hun saying "pick 19 is technically not a first round pick".

#19 is not a first round pick in any way, shape or form. Nothing technical about it.
These circle jerking muppets are too illiteratre to even read anymore it seems.

Honestly, we need to get my ex wife on this.
She was a lovely woman but she would not only get the best deal from Carlton, she would also suck out their souls.

And then make them agree to setting fire to themselves... because it would be best for them.

Thank christ we parted on good terms. :)

F%#k carlton,i'd like to pull that wooden spoon they're chokin' on and shove it fair and square up where the sun don't shine.
If they don't come to the party for pick 19 I just hope our club has a good memory in future years.

What goes around comes around.
