Won’t get done north would want 6/13 for 2 can’t see you guy doing it but you never know 🤞

We don't need to go after Norths #2 pick. We would target WCE #3 as a priority in my view, as we likely get the same player we want regardless. All that requires is for us to have a view on who you rate at 2 and adjust who we pick at 1 if required.

West coast traded out pick 2 for 8&12 previously so no reason they wouldn't be willing to trade out 3 for 9&13 (Baker and half of Bolton deal). They get Bo Allen at 9 no doubt.

We won't be trading pick 6 out given the top end of the draft, so north will need to find another club if they don't wanna add another mid to their list

It really is quite simple.

Give us pick 9 & 10 like we want or don't get Bolton. How bad do Freo want Bolton? Their club recently said the time is now to get elite talent in instead of drafting young guys and waiting for them to develop.

If they want Warner more than Bolton, then don't trade for Bolton and move your picks into next year, however there's no guarantee that Warner picks Freo. Would be pretty funny if they moved their picks to make a play for Warner and he ended up picking West Coast.

Bolton is:
  • 2x premiership player
  • 2022 All Australian
  • 2021 Mark of the year winner
  • Top 5 in B&F every year since 2020
  • 4th in AFL for total score involvements in 2022 (7.48 average)
  • 10th in AFL for total score involvements in 2023 (7.00 average)
  • A match winner, can play in midfield and forward, so agile and crafty, people in the media talk about him as a match winner
  • Contracted

Pick 9 & 10 is a base, arguably our best and most talented player after Dusty. If Freo don't give us 9 & 10 or they turn it into pick 3 we're keeping Shai.
This club has no guts if we give him up for 9 and 16.

Well according to cal twoomey we shouldn't ask for more than 9 and 16

And 6 is enough for rioli who is 28 next year

But no mention of Bolton's age

I highly doubt we will give him up for 9 & 16, just goes down as how desperately Freo want him. Would be harsh to tell Bolton we want you but then not offer enough in the trade to make it happen.

Richmond never said we will get you to Freo, we said if the price is right then we will consider it. This is a game of bluff from Freo, we just need to hold firm.

That would be a good post in the Free Agency section of Shai Bolton to the Fremantle fans.

better off f... Freo off,

West Coast or stay and we need to focus on getting other picks anyway

The thing is Eagles are a successful club. They are not going to sit on their hands for 8 years waiting for draftees to mature before they get another crack at it.

They can use pick 3 for Bolton. Their rd1 picks for the next 2 years for Warner, likely to be projected around pick 5 and 10. And with Baker and Graham in the door, Reid, Allen, and several other still young rd 1 draft picks at the club already, they are well on their way. And they can clearly afford the salary for all these guys.

So if Fremantle want to shop at Harrods Fortnum & Mason, they are going to need to forget about looking for bargain prices.

Edit: Had to delete Harrods due to ongoing sexual assault allegations against late ex-owner Mohamed Al-Fayed.

If we can get 6 & say 26 for Rioli and somehow manage to get 13 for Baker, you might be right afterall and we just walk away not having to trade Bolton. We can trade up our late pics for Brisbane's pick 18.

Still go to the draft with picks 1,6,13,18,21,26 & 29. That's still an amazing draft hand. Bolton would be forced to come back to the club with his tail between his legs and if he sulks it up big time, he can sit in the VFL for 4 years.

If they were prepared to part with 10 as part of the Baker trade why the hell would they not for Bolton... lol doesn't make sense.

exactly and they can get FA to etc...

they have room to build relatively quickly given the strength of other teams, like us because both of us are not as advanced as most other teams

why do you not want us to get 12 from the Gold Coast, is it allergic to you?? political perception problem in the sense too many picks from GC they think we are doing Bowes plus 7??

Their opening offer is 9&16 - when was the last time a club just accepted the first offer... just doesn't happen.

Blair will get more than that, he has a long history of getting overs for players that want out #inblairwetrust
TBH

We are ahead of where I thought we would be

Trade period has not started yet and we are ay 9,16, plenty of time to go and we really cannot lose from here

So Cats will get Jack Martin, Oliver and Bailey Smith, unbelievable

Jack Martin lol. Bailey Smith good runner but soft as ****. Oliver 1% chance of that happening. Dees fans hand us Holmes and a first rounder or two first rounders. There will need to be at least one top 10 pick in there. They don't have that draft capitol. Pick 15 is for Smith.

If we are trading up to 3 to get a specific player, you would also need to be sure that North don't trade pick 2 to someone else then.

i would love to get 12 but i think it's about a 1% chance of happening so i don't bother pipe dreaming that much. I think getting pick 20 is hopeful but also unlikely as Gold Coast still need points for Lombard.

Other teams are coming hard for pick 12, more than we can offer for Rioli & other picks, especially when future 1st rounders are being thrown around for it. Doubt we have any chance.
