How valuable are the draft Picks - Ashcroft Second season - Norm Smith
Ashcroft is the exception to the usual though. He is the youngest Norm Smith medal winner ever.
It's likely going to be a long time before we get another second year player or less winning a Norm.

Do we think if the rumors are true and Joey Daniher hangs up the boots after today, that the Lions might come hard for Lynch?

Dunno how interested he’d be moving back to QLD but Lions will still be in the flag window and losing their best KPF would be a big loss while there are potential flags on the table
would do for rayner and their first pick

Anyone outbidding us if we offer 39, 41, 47, 57 (1356pts) for 18 (935)?

Would leave 29, Graham comp (if he leaves, say 40), 66, 72 (1181) to seek/ sweeten a play for 12 (1268) or 20 (912)

Why give them that generous an offer? 50% bonus is ridiculously over the top. Not bidding on Ashcroft at one also saves them 500 points so by your logic we'd be giving them double. Once we clean out Gold Coast and Freo we're Shylock and in the strongest draft can make out like bandits in any deal. Much better to give them bugger all like only 200 extra points and guarantee won't bid on Ashcroft. If we dont deal with them bid on Ashcroft as he is the best kid whos continued to stand tall as Jagga, Smillie, Fos etc have all stumbled. Every team is desperate to get into this stacked draft so why roll over for anyone.

Even more so when we get pick 2 and promise not to bid there either.

Righto. Hold on to 57 (whoopee) and it’s 1174 for 935. Any less of a premium & have doubts that both we get it & that it passes the AFL’s sniff test when we don’t bid on Levi.
