Honestly if I was another club I’d only offer pick 40 for Graham. That’s a fair value, I think we hype him up a lot.
It’s still not a bad pick in light of what we picked him up for, wasn’t he drafted in the 50’s ? Or am I thinking someone else?

I remember hearing that clubs like Nth were after “culture players” (may have been on Tiger cast?). But we have in recent history 2016 to 2017 etc developed a very strong culture. We still have enough players from that period to pass that culture/standards on to new players. It shouldn’t be understated nor overstated but it’s an important part of the puzzle for teams that don’t have what RFC has. Also it demonstrated what a team can achieve once truly united and playing as a cohesive unit. (Shows the importance of coaching leadership & support for team development. Over to you Adem & coaches).

I have said it before that having our injuries this season really hurt us & as others have mentioned, higher ranked teams faired as bad if not worse with less injuries. I am as others are willing to write this season off but I took a lot of heart overall from the team endeavour/effort. Sure it didn’t show in overall wins but impacts our youth in terms of minimum standards when you put on the RFC jumper.

Other teams/clubs know this, WC, NTH, GC that’s one of the reasons they’ll come hard at our players.
I’m more than happy to back our recruiting staff as most of them have been there & done it, the way they have prepared for this year shows insight/experience into our drafting strength/position. Arrived at through planning, not by accident. I’m not necessarily accepting everything that comes out of the club, I’ll wait for actions, but I won’t condemn the club either, for me this is a time for getting behind the club & patience.

P.s want some inspiration or just a smile. go to the gifs thread. I’ve had a blast on there thanks again Hate !!

I reckon Freo getting desperate.

recent posts say Baker 10 and then some float 9 and 16 or 17 for Bolton which will not fly. Now the likes of X Elllis over in WA suggesting Baker and Bolton to Freo in the one deal. Clearly they are reaching and getting desperate.

I think Bolton could stay at Richmond and watches closely our new draftees explode in the coming years

Our premiership culture is gone. the key persons who built that culture have all moved on. Yze needs to build a new culture

rather keep Graham if that is what we get

Not if its a 4 year deal we are offering. You cant have these sort of players around Taranto and Hopper and I dont see Graham overtaking those 2. We still have Prestia for another year as well as Ross. Even up forward we just need speed now. We are going to draft a stack of mids, then McAuliffe needs more minutes as well. We need to move players like Graham out even if we aren't getting much back.

Taranto and Hopper can go, Are they not looking for premierships??
?

Richmonds dilemma - do they give up pick 9 or 10 to Geelong to get Dekooning - which will be on traded to Western Bulldogs for Bailey Smith - unbelivable position that Richmonds has - Western Bulldogs are looking for an early pick for Bailey Smith !
Where would we play Dekoning?
Doesn't feel like a need.

Our premiership culture was just Cotchin, Dusty, Grimes and Riewoldt. I’ve realised now everybody else was just along for the ride or in it for themselves.

I wouldn't want to commit beyond 2026 paying salaries. Never know how good the draftees will play and how quickly you can rise and have a FA wanting to come.
Paying salaries for others should not be considered past 1year, 2 absolute max as salary cap trading could be introduced as early as next year. Clubs could possibly trade 2 future years of draft picks for straight cap subsidy and if we’ve given it to others we are F***ed.

SDK would be a fantastic pick up for pick 10.
God we are in A1 position to make hay

not interested in SDK one iota. Would not cough up pick 26 for him

its a fools gold play for suckers that slurp up unsubstantiated hype. It is how we end up with Hopper, or Yarran

I bet those getting pick 10 could not stop laughing at it with joy

this is one of the reasons Geelong do not win, not good enough. He did not make the team because??
