Brisbane cannot get Ashcroft and Marshall if we select Ashcroft at #1 and any club select Marshall before pick 25.

The maximum a club can go into deficit is 985 points. (The value of future pick 18) and they are about 1800 points short for both kids. We can make them pay up with their F1 as well as pick 18 or they likely miss Marshall. Other alternative is they trade out a player.

In other words we have the Lions by the balls if they want Ashcroft and Marshall.

Imagine the uproar if they don’t within their fans? An NGA top talent they let slip. Reckon they would trade Pick 8 on the day for more picks to get back into the late first or early second round.

Is he worth a selection that high Bob? I’d love us to do it though, as they have to match it for sure if he’s rated. He’s the type of player we sorely lack though

He’s probably 10-20 worth but he’s a quality and exciting small forward who kicks goals. Wouldn’t be against him on the list.

This upcoming trade period and next 2 drafts would have to be the most important in the clubs history to get out of the bottom rung and rise quickly it all starts with bringing in quality midfielders
