I’d be fired negotiating deals like that for my bank. That’s for well sure. When you hold all the cards, never fold.
The Key is,

Make no promises to Rioli and Bolton, be happy to walk away and if we walk away, we retain them and go into the draft with Pick 1, 13 (baker), 21, 29 and we keep Rioli and Bolton

Then no one deals with Freo and Wce be because they didn't get the deals done and our players can't just leave in 12 months, cause they're tied for another 3 years

Those happy with 9 and 16 for Bolton, I'd recommend not venturing into a sales job. You wouldn't be very good at it.
Yeah but you could say the same to those over valuing their asset.

Jack Martin joining Geelong as a free agent according to Mitch Cleary

If Freo don’t deal fairly for Bolton, we walk away and Shai comes back.

It’s been agreed by his management and Richmond we are willing to accomodate his request to return home for family reasons only if we get what we want from the trade. I know his management has told Fremantle that and it was said, Fremantle have agreed to deal in good faith because of this.

Is this angling to keep pick 10? Maybe. But they will soon find out, Pick 9 & 10 is the deal and don’t talk to us unless you come to the table. Bolton’s management and Bolton will be pissed.

We hold the cards. We have two contracted players who want to depart. If we don’t get what we want, they come back. It’s very simple. If they don’t like it, they can be angry at those clubs who let them down.

We need to come away from this trade period like we have not provided a win win between our clubs, but a big win for us. We are losing two players who have been keys with long contracts.

Pay up Fremantle and Gold Coast or it will be damning for you.
Dimma won't let rioli down, suns have already agreed to send pick 6 but blair will squeez them for 12 as well and then we send them a F2 and some points for this year or 6 and 20

Absolutely

We already have a very strong draft hand and we can consolidate later picks we already hold

It’s not like we need them to come to the table to save our draft
Don’t get me wrong I would love the picks but if they aren’t offering the ones that represent what we want, we aren’t desperate for them either

Muppet Barret reckons Houston is worth more than Bolton.

A half back flanker worth more than a match winner. Shakes head violently.

Would you say the same about Rioli? In my books picks 6+20 is worth far more than what Bolton seems to be going for (unfortunately). Not bad for a half back flanker.

I'd agree if that were true in this instance but it's not. I'm not going to explain why as it's been done ad nauseam already.

For the sake of discussion, we’d want Fremantle's picks this year, especially with the top 15 in the draft being particularly strong. This would kickstart our rebuild and give us a chance to get a season into our hypothetical first-round picks, rather than waiting for the following years. There’s also the risk of Bolton’s value declining as a year of his contract ticks down, particularly if he’s playing in a team that isn’t performing well, alongside the early reports of next year's draft class not being as deep.

That's the leverage Freo has, albeit we have much much more with Bolton signed. Think 9+10 would be fantastic, but don't think it is as simple as demanding that or walking away.

Don't mind the Jack Martin pickup for Geelong. He can play if they get his body right.

Explaining something to Morro more difficult than getting your fridge to wash the dishes.

Now I’m taking Bo Allan at Pick 9 or 10 to **** them even more.
I would anyway. Big, strong, fast, aggressive, defensively-minded mid will complement FOS and Lalor perfectly.

Shai is worth 3 and 16. 9 and 10 is unders, 9 and 16 is laughable.

His management knew what picks freo had
He would have spoken with Blair Hartley if its possible and would have been given indication of whats expected
That information would have been passed onto fremantle and been told is doable
Then Shai would have requested the trade

Trade radio is funny.
The mental gymnastics in trying to work out a way for Geelong to use as little trade capital as possible in order for both Smith and Oliver to get there is crazy.

They're even saying Oliver could sacrifice $100-200k to make sure it gets across the line.

Whats with everyone in the footy industry trying to appease Geelong in any way, shape or form?

It’s an AFL/state government conspiracy to prop up a club that couldn’t survive without a state funded velodrome, game changes and favourable draft rules.

Nobody would be happy with that
But who knows what happens

I was not happy with the Higgins trade either but it happened

Wasn’t a bad trade. We shouldn’t have selected him in the first place. We were fine without him

campaigner I will share your messages agreeing with me if you dog me again like this

Haha freo demand gold bars for their trash players and when they sound out contracted players from other clubs they offer mid range shit pick nonsense.

They'll pay up.... They can't walk away now either, I'd argue 9 and 10 are still not good enough... I hope Blair just holds firm and walks away if they can't deal.

Why hand freo a shot at a flag if they don't want to pay a premium
