The players I’ve heard, that don’t have enough scope as yet to go with as yet, aren’t from GC.
I have heard we asked about Rosas and Flanders, both contracted, havent heard of they would even think about moving.
Yeah. I've also heard stuff. Can't say what though.

I don't venture to other boards much, but I'd hazard a guess no board pops off as much as ours when it comes to trade time. Even when we aren't doing anything it's still crazy.
So many oppo fans are melting that we're going to make out like bandits this trade period. It's actually laughable how much they all seem too care all of a sudden about GC being bent over.

Just shut the **** up would ya, FFS

If the message is that Baker wants us to be fairly compensated, and he only wants to go to WCE, then I don't see him leaving.

WCE (in my opinion) aren't in a place where they can give up high end draft pick for mature-aged players just yet, and I doubt they will necessarily go down that route either (giving a high end pick for Baker, that is).
You might not like it, but I can see it happening West coast 2nd round and F2.

The club not only wants quality picks but quantity of picks to set us up for pick upgrades and future picks.

WC absolutely reamed them in 2017. Traded a F1 for a bunch of picks one of which was Allen and then won the flag and Suns won spoon and they got them all for a 1 pick downgrade now they're crying.

That would be 23 + pick 19 - 21 in 2025 (assuming no priority picks and compensation picks), which I wouldn't mind in all honesty.

But that leaves WCE with 3 + 59 in this season's draft (+ whatever they get for Barrass), and I don't see them going into the draft with those picks considering their lack of young talent atm.

It's pretty marvellous to think we have a whole month of footy to go plus a few weeks before trade period starts lol

I suspect a few oppo fans will be admitted into hospital during that time. Wait until Bolton requests a trade to Freo, Graham's compo is released and Baker wants to head home.

All for the different views!

We will get what we deserve either way, trade wise!
You're a good lad.

Just don't let me catch you using those filthy words cake and icing again!

Don't forget Graham's 2019 prelim where his shoulder couldn't even stay in its socket but he kept putting it back in and returning to field like a ****en beast knowing full well he wasn't playing the following week.
He goes with my blessing, not that he needs it.
If the Eagles are offering a better pay day, good luck to him.
I went with some mates to the VFL grand final a day or two after that game. After the cup was presented the players filed off up the race that we were standing next to. A few of the senior players including Jack were there. As he walked past me I just said, "Stuff of legends, Jack."

They will have options.

They could use pick 3 to likely get the best WA mid, Baker and probably another low to mid 20's pick. They may possibly fancy that.
Pick 3 and their future third for 10, Baker and 29. 10 gets them Bo Allan.

I doubt they give us pick 3 for Baker unless they ask for one of the first rounders we get for Bolton from Freo (let's say pick 9 for now).

So another way to frame this is whether pick 3 for Baker + pick 9 is something either club would consider (add in steak knives where appropriate).

nah I'm pretty happy with my opinion.

I don't doubt he is a great player when everything is up and about, and have zero doubt he is absolutely what freo need, but I still believe that Dan has performed at a more consistent level across when we were good and bad.

nothing anyone says will change my mind on that, I read the comments in Autopsy threads weekly (Not just this year) about Bolton being MIA at stages, not stepping up when needed etc.

Like I said, exciting, talented player suited to a team travelling well to be the icing on their cake, 1000%.

But for me Dan has been more consistent, especially during the bleaker times.

I understand that from a trade perspective, the only thing that actually matters is what the pending club think he can add to their side, which is a huge upside, don't disagree with that at all.
Agree.
Will miss Rioli more than Bolton .
Dan still played like he cared constantly.

I can see them getting a 1st round for Barrass. There was talk they might even try and split their pick 3. Hence why a lot of Eagles fans are having a huge sook about Rioli because they actually were hoping to get Gold Coasts pick 6.

I’m pretty confident we’d take 9/10 , my fears are they’ll open the batting with 9/17

Id take 9/17.

After watching the Yze presser I’m worried Harley and he think that we can rise with a better run at injuries. If those two leave we have to bottom out.

Don’t be surprised if the club try to keep everyone and go for finals again.

Surely that's just giving hope to fans rather than them believing that.

It's hard to imagine, us being better next season losing our B&F winner

And... potentially losing Bolton & Baker.

look I wasn't thinking we'd make finals next year let's be real, but I was hoping we would have slight improvement.
This is going to get Yze quicker out the door sacked.
If he cares about his coaching career, he would be saying to Hartley to hold Rioli & Bolton to their contracts.

WCE will definitely ask for a first round pick for Barrass, and I think they probably do. Without going into multiple trade scenarios, the one possible trade I can see that could make this work is Hawthorn's 12 goes to Sydney, 18 or 19 (let's say 18 for now) from Sydney goes to WCE, Barrass and 19 to Hawthorn (but Hawthorn's pick could easily be pushed back depending on their finals performance, and I doubt Sydney would be willing to facilitate a move that gets Barrass to a club that isn't them after Barrass rejected them).

I think what is obvious is that if Baker is traded, it will be one of the later ones that gets done, cause a lot of business have to get done by WCE to put them in a position where they don't compromise youth in favour for chasing a mature-body (the last time they did it, it probably didn't go as well as they'd have hoped).

No point for us to do it
The number 1 draft pick gets a nice cash bonus so nominating a player who won’t play for you just ****s over the player we will pick in a way
We'll give Fos the xtra cash down the track

It's going to be 2 massive years of pain (maybe even back to back spoons) but some massive long term gains if we can rape this years and next year's draft.
