You could instruct Hewett to go head to head with the best opposition midfielder (non tagging role) but also win the footy. His defensive skills are such that he'll do a good job negating the opposition player while also winning the footy.

If I am Nick Austin this is what I would look at..

Trade 6 & future 3rd to Brisbane for 14 & 18.
Trade 14 & 25 to Freo for Cerra..

We still use pick 6 to get Cerra but get an upgrade on 25 to 18. Freo should be content with a 1st & 2nd round pick for their out of co tract wantaway..

Could then look at trade SPS & pick 18 to West Coast for pick 10..

Zero chance of that. Split pick 6 and you're not getting Cerra. It will be 6+ and people need to accept it and move on. He'll be a huge addition.

Why would one jeopardize an opportunity to acquire a skilled young player midfielder . especially in our position.? Its a no brainer, swap p6 and maybe some haggling over sweetener, if SPS is traded for a pick then that’s the bonus.
Austin should get both trades Adam Cerra & SPS out of way , so we can source for other needs such as a mature Ruckman ( desperately needed) & a tall key position.

So let me get this right? Cerra is only interested in coming to us, because we have pick 6, else he is happy to go elsewhere if they outbid us. Hmmmm..........

We aren’t splitting Pick 6, it’s going for Adam Cerra. Austin traded Pick 8 for Saad last year, he will do similar for Cerra this year. Let’s not overthink this one, people.

This could be an option. We could lay it down to Fremantle as our plan if they won’t take 6 outright.
