Stoked with the acquisition of Hewett, perfectly targetted and executed by Austin and co.

Hopefully Hewett's work ethic and defensive attitude rubs off on his new teammates.
A real moneyball pick and the kind of trade that I have always been envious that other clubs seemed to manage. Brilliant stuff from SOC.
He is the kind of player that Roos likes to bring in to help setup the training and culture at the start. A great addition to Ed and Walsh

You are unhappy with Walsh and his running? Ed seems to try pretty hard as well.....

There's running hard and then there's defensive pressure.

No doubt Walsh runs hard but is it next to an opponent stopping their run or like so many of our midfielders trailing behind?

Ed used to have that side of his game no doubt, but he's getting on, GH is the new Ed.

People talking about splitting pick 6 are going to be mighty disappointed when we hand over pick 6 and our second rounder.

if we hand over pick 25 as well as 6, Luke Sayers should frog march Nick Austin out the front door of Princes Parlk.

Regardless of the fact that is way overs for Cerra,it would mean our first pick in the draft is pick 64 in a year when there is only supposed to be around 50 players selected in the draft.. we probably get something in the 30s for SPS but still that is a horrendous draft hand, especially when we didn’t take a 1st rounder last year..

Doubt either Freo or WCE would go for that. However, using your deal as a base, how about this...

Carlton Lose: -> 6, 25, 61, SPS Gain: Cerra, 18
Freo Lose: -> Cerra Gain: 10, 25
WCE Lose: -> 10 Gain: 14, SPS
Bris Lose: 14, 18 Gain: 6, 61
I know it might be a fun excercise, but when was the last time you saw a 4-way trade/pick swap? or even a 3 way?

But does that ever actually happen? You gotta fu** around for a week first, trying to get Fremantle to accept 25 + someone we are going to delist anyway.
TBH, not sure why we delisted Levi. There has been a lot of interest in him apparently, and even though we might not have got much, we may have been able to upgrade some picks if we had traded.

I wasn't having a crack or being sarcastic.

You need lots of non A grade players who play their role to be a good side. Nothing wrong with a B grade player.

Look at GH's stats every time he was given a gig in the guts.....

If not A grade, as close to as to not be worthy of discussion.

Glass half full would mean that pick 64 gets a 14 pick upgrade to pick 50

Agreed, everyone knew he was playing off 1 leg.

Give that knee time and remediation and....

All I can think is the knee is too much of an issue?

Not sure what pick 80 would get us, no-one would trade for him, nothing worth while anyway

I think with Austin this trade period, his performance is based a lot around keeping a second rounder intact. He has room to let it slide a bit but we need one decent pick. It would be pretty average to give up a first and second rounder leaving us with no draft hand in 21.

If our current pick was to remain a second rounder but slip back 5-9 spots I’d be ok with that And give Austin a pass. To do that he has to be creative.

Any swapping of picks in the Cerra trade will certainly be next year’s future picks, we most likely use our #25 and the SPS 2nd rounder (#29/35) to draft in kids or bundling them up to gain an earlier 1st round pick…

We are the 6th youngest side. Austin won't be frog marched anywhere

Maybe thats overs but no where near as much as you’re making out. The point I’m making is that people who think it’s pick 6 plus meaningless steak knives will be disappointed.
