Will the Giants try to get Cogs off the books because they know us (and probably others) want to get their hands on Taranto, Hopper and Green over the next couple of seasons ?
If they do they free up maybe $600k a year off his contract according to this:
Why a trade could be the ‘best thing’ for $7m star... and a rival looms as an ideal landing spot

I really want St Kilda to win the flag sometime soon, so we can talk about truely great players - premiership players, and jettison these boys-club media w***ers ...
Sounds like the Suns aren't overly interested in trading out pick 3 judging by what Cameron said today. They are looking to move on Brodie and McPherson and trading their later picks for picks in the 2022 draft or upgrading into earlier picks so they can just take the minimum 3 picks. They are open to possibly trading 19 as well.
Dogs to pay his salary?tigs2010 I regret to inform you that Lipinski has officially requested a trade to Collingwood. Sorry Champ.
I disagree, 2018 we drafted rcd and Ross 2 big body midfielders, rcd has always been touted as a slow developer which would have been slowed even further by the little vfl being able to be played the last 2 years, same with Ross, 2019 another 4 midfield/forwards with Dow and Martyn the potential future inside mids, ralphsmith the outside runner and Cumberland a forward mid. The development these guys have missed out on at vfl level is crazy. But I’m sure the club are looking at least 3 of them and thinking there’s potential 200 gamers. So with that in mind I wouldn’t be shocked if the club went with a KPP. I disagree when people say we are desperate for a clearance bull we’ve got potentially 4 of them in the last 3 drafts, our game plan was ruined this year by the injuries we had to our backline which meant grimes couldn’t be as attacking and intercept more, vaulstin never looked right after he hurt himself round 1, broad is supremely underrated he shuts down so well and when he and balta went down it put even more pressure on grimes and astbury who was limping into retirement. All this hype about the Melbourne midfield and I agree that they’re stacked but defence wins premierships! Our defence was the best in the league every year we won the flag, west coasts was very strong in 18 and this year Melbourne’s was clearly the best and only had one injury to thomilson early in the year which they covered well with petty. Would be all for getting gibcus, letting him develop as an intercept defender under grimes and co whilst Tarrant helps continue to develop balta to take the big boysProblem is that we have a distinct need for mids and mids now. We have been thrashed in clearances for years in a game that has now become all about clearance.
In a few years time we'll no doubt need talls to replace Tarrant but we'll also be facing a post-Dusty era and likely a bottoming out in the cycle (or at least a mild decline). Mids take less time and we need to take the shot at a flag that we have. If we can bring up the standard of our starting and second rotation mids we can arguably go again next year and potentially two-three years after that, besides also bringing up the standard of whatever our bottoming out in the cycle looks like. Balta and Lynch are good book ends for that timeframe and drafting in the second round for talls and developing has worked out OK thus far.
Also while I have no doubt Gibcus will be a good player, the two teams that played on Saturday had the best midfields, as we did when we were at our zenith. I'm not convinced you need more than one B+ grade tall at either end to win a flag, and you certainly don't need a great ruck based on recent history (obviously I rate Gawn as a champion but it's nothing but battlers for 10 years prior, including Nank). Better going the next Clayton Oliver/Christian Petracca than someone who turns out to be the next Aliir......
Would we be interested in if gws were prepared to pay 750 a year of his contract , be worth flying a kite , could only tell us to FOWill the Giants try to get Cogs off the books because they know us (and probably others) want to get their hands on Taranto, Hopper and Green over the next couple of seasons ?

Lets play Nank in CJ's role and visa versa. It is odd that there is no official statement but there is player and coach confirmation.
I wouldn't be surprised if the club is working hard to retain him.
The Saints have plenty of lists spots and want to trade in to this year's draft. Not going to be able to get much currency from fringe players.Absolutely zero chance of getting the Saints 1st round pick next year, we know they are going to be making a big play for King
We're probably more likely to get their pick this year by giving them draft collateral for next year
For the 100th bloody time , would we look at will Brodie , can’t see why not
I dont have access to the article, but I'm a big fan of Jaeger.
Still think we go to the draft, but he is one I've always wished we had at Richmond.
Personally I don’t really see the upsideFor the 100th bloody time , would we look at will Brodie , can’t see why not

Before I get shot I’m not suggesting we bring in Will Brodie but what are the knocks on him? I have probably only seen him play 4/5 games and hasn’t set the world on fire but also didn’t look out of place. If you look purely at the stat sheet it all reads pretty well. Pretty big fall for a guy that was touted the number 1 pick for some of his draft year. Wasn’t there a poster in here that knew him personally?
Yeah I don’t get it either. I remember that many of us on this board wanted him for our pick 6 in 2016.Before I get shot I’m not suggesting we bring in Will Brodie but what are the knocks on him? You tell us mateFor the 100th bloody time , would we look at will Brodie , can’t see why not
I'd take Mitchell you?I get the feeling that someone at Hawthorn really wants us to pick one of their mids lol. First Tom Mitchell now Jaeger O’Meara
O'Meara and Prestia would form a pretty formidable rehab group.
He is going to stay in wa in 2022 and play wafl and then look to make it back in afl in 2023Jarrod Cameron has just requested a trade out of West Coast.
Would be a good selection for us with added pace and smarts around our forwardline.
He can’t get a game at GC. Enough saidBefore I get shot I’m not suggesting we bring in Will Brodie but what are the knocks on him?
