Henry is a great pickup for cats. They're killing it this trade period if they can turn pick 18 and $1.6mill in to pick 7, Bowes and Bruhn as well as adding Henry.
Still my biggest query on them is the age factor. Becoming a very old side, with little young talent coming through to replace their better players. Got kissed on the proverbial in the finals too, winning a tough one first up and then had two byes to win a flag. They were damn lucky not to face the only sides capable of beating them, Melbourne, us and a replay against the Pies.

Melbourne wouldn't have got near them had they got to the prelim. Collingwood would have put up a fight but honestly we were the only side that could have beaten them.

The previous season v Melbourne too. Two wasted seasons kind of. Maybe third time the charm.

It's looking a decent trade week if the tigers get the 2nd player

I reckon 2021 we never looked like it. Played about 2 or 3 good games for the whole season. 2022 was much better but ultimately more disappointing as we repeatedly shot ourselves in the foot.

Be a tough season with geelong. Melbourne. Brisbane. Sydney etc.
Even Port might jump back up. Blues too. Going to be tight for spots.

Getting Henry and Bruhn in helps. They've completely bypassed the development phase of two young guns. Holmes looks like a future star. De Koning already is. If they can't turn Bowes into a player they'll be laughing.

I’d be dubious stating what GWS claim in this trade period through the media as fact. They use it to suit their narrative, case in point their twice daily updates on trade radio on the Hopper deal. Bruhn deal ended up fair and reasonable at this stage of his career and that’s what the cats should be assessed upon.

Henry will end up a decent third tall for them, once Hawkins retires. May even end up a second tall. He’s a player they have in mind for the future, not 23. But if he impacts next year that’s a bonus.

Same with Bowes. His trade is purely to get pick 7. If he plays as a regular in the 22 over the next four years that’s a massive win for the Cats. Will be interesting to see what they pony up going back to GC. They will be hoping it’s pick 18, but I think they will split this and give them something later.

Henry could be ok.

Only 189cm and couldn’t get a game for a team where they basically don’t even have any talls.

Speculative trade though really.
Barely a tall midfielder these days at that height 👀

Henry replaces Rohan long term
It’s the perfect upgrade

They’ll get the best out of Bruhn coming home who will become a midfielder in the long run and they probably add Clark at pick 7 as the Selwood replacement long term

It’s a brilliant off season and anyone who plays that down is kidding themselves!
Bowes also adds depth and has shown in the past he has talent

But we still win with Hopper and Taranto 😁

Women's very elite football teams, often lose to 13 year old boys sides. In assocation football ..
So what?

A World Cup Mens wheelchair team would lose a game of basketball to most local Tuesday night B Grade Mens able-bodied teams. Doesn't mean they're less entitled to compete within their own domain, or any less worthy of the utmost respect given what they've achieved within that domain.

People have really got to just get over these sort of pile ons.

How many Selwood replacements do they need ? wasnt Cooper Stephens , Constable , Knevitt , Evans meant to be his replacement ?

Haha nah I’m not saying that they haven’t done well. Any club which for the Bowes deal was guaranteed to do well.

Just I’m not sold on him. Rohan can spud it up but best pressure forward in the game this year.
Henry couldn’t get a game for the pies and his competition was Cox and Mihocek lol

He could be ok. I hope not 😂

Stephens and Knevitt are tall mids? Constable a potato and Evans was a small forward who’s been delisted so don’t really see any in that Selwood class

The wheel keeps turning and Clark apparently is a Selwood clone according to draft reports so that makes a little sense if that’s their aim

I think Henry is a very similar player to Rohan so I think it’s a perfect fit. The Geelong connection with his brother was just always going to come to fruition and the Pies probably knew it when they drafted him

But all good points on him at the Pies! But at Geelong he’ll play Rohans role and flourish behind Cameron for the next few years imo. Very similar players and Henry has more of an upside in the coming years

Hawkins will hang them up next year I reckon so hopefully Neale as his replacement is just meh. Otherwise they’ll stay around the Mark for another 5+ years which will annoy me lol
