I still don’t really understand how some clubs are putting on fire sales due to salary squeeze yet Richmond are paying fair rates or potentially overs to a club in a salary squeeze.

Understandably we want to be seen as a club who just gets it done and not difficult to deal with but it’s kinda annoying given the landscape around us.

Henry is a great pickup for cats. They're killing it this trade period if they can turn pick 18 and $1.6mill in to pick 7, Bowes and Bruhn as well as adding Henry.

That seems to be the popular opinion but have any of those 3 shown anything at this stage to suggest they’ll be A graders.
Not saying they’ll be busts but think the jury is out on what impact they’ll have at AFL level.

Future predictions of how good they’re going to be is based on them being early picks rather than what they’ve done

And the 1.6 million even if it is spread over more years will have some impact if Bowes is playing in the 2s like he was at GC

Do we think the AFL would relax their rules in relation to trading future picks if the Tigers needed it..?? Bunch of cheating campaigners. How can a billion dollar industry be so full or ‘rules’ that can just be changed on a whim by a bunch of biased campaigners at head office.

I spoke to my mate who knows one of the guys on the membership recruitment team at the club. Re the Hopper deal: apparently GWS are interested in adding Ivan Soldo to the deal and they have secretly met with him.

Mate I already broke this news early September.

Because they don’t have a problem as bad as GC or Collingwood, they have a tight cap, but not at the fire sale level.

And some middle of the road male college swimmer could beat the Campbell sisters and yes, a lot of men's tennis players would beat Barty. The average boys under 10s basketball team would usually smash the same age girls teams as well. It's basic biological differences just the same as young girls language skills and reading is typically better than the boys.

This not news to anyone whose lived in the past 100,000 years or important except perhaps in pointing out the absurdity of trans athletes competing against a different biological sex in any sport where size and power is a factor. "But but but gender is a social construct!!!"".. well you don't play sport with your social construct..you play it with biology!

That all said and this is the point.. i got just as pumped seeing the Campbell girls winning gold as I did any of the male swimmers. The Opals are awesome to watch and Lauren Jackson is a gun. Cathy Freeman's 400m is far and away my favourite Olympic memory.

AFLW has a way to go but there's no reason why it can't grow to be a great part of the sporting landscape.

When are we finalising the Hopper deal btw?

Interesting the players that are not on there. Fringe players, fair enough.
Cotch & JR - obviously was some doubt about continuing.
Rioli, Broad, KMac - all regular best 22 players didn't make the cut.
