If hawthorn let omeara mitchell and Gunston go they would be almost certainly have 2 million in cap space so who do we think they are after in free agency next season ?
Think you can write off the next 24 months for the hawks if Omeara and Titch go along with Gunston

They’re embracing full on rebuild mode
Doubt any serious free agents would be looking at them for at least a couple of years

They may take salary dumps to help fill out the salary cap but can’t see them attracting anyone of value unless it’s Anderson from the Suns next year who’s dad played for the hawks? But can’t see he and Rowell leaving they look pretty happy up there

Taranto and Hopper are both natural forward/mids imo. Who knows how they will go as fulltime mids?
In 2019 when they both played full time mid and the team made the GF they finished 1st and 3rd in the B&F

Castagna will get a contract extension , He will be a free agent end of 2023 and we must make sure he remains a tiger for life
5 Year deal for George ;)
Knowing he has played 100games, wait till he has kids lol. Book mark it will be boys. Then we will have plenty of Castagnas running around haha.

Anderson is a mad Richmond supporter I reckon we would be into him already and if the suns do no good next season he could request a trade

Given the assumption the Hopper deal has always been going to happen, if it doesn't go ahead will that leave GWS over the cap in 2023? Are the Tigers therefore just playing this smart by pushing this deal as deep into the trade period as possible before GWS end up having to trade and we minimise our net cost?

not gonna happen donald trump GIF by Election 2016

Just like his career, not going to happen lol.

Didn't look like he gave a **** about us when he put 1 through after the siren against us this year

It's funny on all these long term contracts. Someone mentioned a while back and it makes total sense is a lot of these should see these guys locked up past the inclusion of Tasmania's side. So I assume it's clubs just looking away those most important to them when the Tassie team comes knocking.

Like it's a full blown trend now which means there is something going on.

WTF have GWS done? The fact Norf gave away #1 shows they were not picking Cadman at #1.
The fact Eagles gave away #2 shows they were not picking Cadman. So wouldn’t GWS have gotten Cadman at #3 anyway? So they’ve given away 12 and a F2 for nothing.

Or was the expectation Eagles would have traded their #2 elsewhere and that club might have then taken Cadman?

There’s always the chance the North Melbourne and West Coast would decide between now and draft night to either draft Cadman themselves or trade the pick (which can be done up until draft night) to another team (Essendon have been rumored to be into Cadman quite heavily).

It makes sense for GWS as it confirms the player it wants above all is available.

My understanding is that the Giants won’t be over the cap, but it’s very tight with the majority of money locked into a handful of contracts (Coniglio, Haynes, Whitfield, Kelly, Greene) who are all on long-term deals, giving the Giants a lack of maneuverability in re-signing players to competitive contracts (e.g. Taranto) and being able to add talent year-on-year.

So if they don’t do a deal for Hopper it won’t disrupt them too much. It’ll make it easier, but not resolve their issues.

Definitely seems like clubs are trying to set themselves up for the medium term locking in core players
Makes sense when you throw in the Tassie team angle
