Hopper and Taranto compliment each other so well because Jacob is so attacking around the ball, so contested. Tim can really transition run and offer back support. You often see Tim the first one back and the first one forward with his running. They're both top class young men and we are happy to have them.
Hitting the draft in 2021 with those guys coming in, gave us that flexibility with guys finishing up. We got some flexibility in our cap which we knew that use to get both of those boys in. You have to be flexible because things don't always go to plan.
Thrilled to keep Soldo. Coming off an ACL is hard and got a lot more to learn and the big boys take time.
On Jack Graham
I spoke to you before and know you were going to visit family but I didn't realise they all worked at Port Adelaide.
On list management
We have been fortunate enough to be in a position to go the draft while we have been contending. The salary cap and draft system does dictate that you do overspend and you do top up and you do keep trying to top up and then fall off the cliff. We have been trying to buck that trend.
We have 2 picks in the ND and 2 or 3 picks in the Rookie Draft. Depending on what's there may take 1 or 2 picks over to the MSD.

Richo - What about the players that would benefit, Dion Prestia and Trent Cotchin that had to shoulder that midfield for so long. Have you spoken to them, they must be thrilled in what you have been able to do?

Instead of who Browne? I think Browne will be an elite backman. Vlastuin 2.0.
I’ll be honest I was initially so upset with our draft hall in 2021. I wanted Hobbs and some other big bodies mids instead of backmen and smalls. I was also surprised with how our recruiters acted, it was like they struck gold.
Only realised now why they acted like that, it’s cause they knew they’d get somebody like Taranto and Hopper in 2022. Our gaps are pretty much filled now. Only need a KPF and I wouldn’t be surprised if they have somebody lined up already to trade in instead of going to the draft. Fair to say we should trust our recruiters they know what they are doing.
