They want future first, 31 and Hugo (perhaps soldo no longer in the frame). No way ill do that, Hugo is part of our future.

Anyways, other media are saying different to mitch cleary that the deal is pretty much done, future first, 31 and Soldo.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Swap out Hugo for Soldo I do that deal every time and twice on Sunday.
Plus a cheeky third round pick back our way

no need for future first

straight swap

they want a 20 year old player they think will have a long career vs an injury prone player that will be 26 before a ball is bounced

Heard the same poo with Prestia and the bloke turned into our best mid and won a b&f. These players don’t grow on trees so you have to pay a price to get them in. 5 quality years out of this bloke we will draft mids in 2024/25 if our 2021 stocks are shit

Soldo is 3rd in line for our ruck duties. Nank and Miller preferred. I like Soldo but if he does go, it won't be the end of the word as Balta and Ryan can be called upon if needed.

Hugo (20 years old) and a future first for hopper lol no fricken way!

I don't really care about overpaying a little especially with our recent use of first rounders other than Gibcus (Dow, RCD, Higgins etc)

But it is a bit concerning how players we've traded out go for peanuts but we're willing to go a little over to bring players in. I wonder if our negotiation tactics are just no good.

The least important part of list management is the haggling over draft picks. The most important part of getting players the caliber of TT, Hopper, Lynch, Prestia etc …. is getting them to CHOOSE Richmond.

The haggling over a pick here or there or a 3rd rounder v 4th rounder etc… is not really all that important. If you’re not talking the really pointy end of the draft I couldn’t care less if we have pick 20, pick 13 or pick 29…. look at drafting in general. There’s as many guns drafted in the 20’s as in the teens.

AFL is becoming more and more athlete first, player second. With rule changes and decreased rotations etc, the athletic demands on players from coaches is increased. Look at our draft last year Brown, Banks, Clarke, Gibcus all athletic, it also shows that we are more prepared to let graham go than Ralpshmith. We aren't trading Hugo

Miller needs to settle down back and take Taz’s spot. Same as Balta. They’re the future of our backline and we want them taking centre bounces is insane.

Only reason they’ve been doing that is Nank is playing with a persistent PCL injury. Got not problems with Samson getting a run at it but these blokes are better in their mid to late 20s.

We’ve got plenty of outside players in the twos. Won’t miss Ralphsmith

You still have to handle the ball cleanly and hit targets under pressure. Hugo is expendable.

I didnt say miller would be first ruck if nank went down. Soldo is 3rd in line "all being fit" as we speak. You are talking a hypothetical now.
But, as you mentioned If Nank goes down of course the order will then change.

I reckon richmonds preference is to trade soldo, as Ryan needs game time, I rate him highly. Wil be a weapon forward/ruck.
Balta i do prefer to stay back but dimma doesn't mind shuffling the decks when needed.

I dunno.
Miller seemed to hit form as soon as he was moved into the second ruck position.
He wasn't as impressive down back.

So decreased rotation yet happy to let our best runner at the club leave.

Doesn't add up.

Hoping it goes through tomorrow.
Nothing happens on weekends and I shudder to think what this thread would turn into when nothing happens for 48 hours.
It's done 80 pages since Taranto was done on Monday, by Monday I expect part 7 to be up and running.

I think that’s because they keep throwing him around. He is a pretty good kick for a big man. Even at 200cm I see him as a broad replacement. Can negate, play big and small and nail a kick. Personally I’d like to see him cement a spot in the backline

Good that we rejected the HRS request

With inside ball winning mids arriving we want to compliment that with outside speed/run/carry

We don’t want to change from one of the quickest teams in the competition to slow plodders

HRS, Brown and Bsnks hopefully to provide that perfect balance alongside Hopper, Taranto, Prestia in the years to come

Chief would have been rubbing his hands thinking of all the ad revenue when he heard Richmond would be heavy players in trade week $$$
